Hillwood Playcare

My grandson has been attending this preschool for about 2 years. The staff is warm and loving. What I like the most is the use of play as a learning tool. The rooms are full of toys and I have noticed a marked increase in his use of imaginative play.

My 4 year old grandson has been a student here for 2 1/2 years. The staff has been nothing but warm, supportive and loving towards him. My daughter drops him off, he runs to his teacher for a hug and never looks back at Mom! What I like best is the emphasis on PLAY as a learning tool. The rooms are full of toys and the kids are encouraged to use their imaginations.

My child really enjoyed his time there. He was there for 2 1/2 year, and I never had any complaints. The staff were all very nice and loved to be with children. The kids get a sense of what it's going to be like in Kindergarten. In addition to learning they went on field trips, had class parties, had festivals for holidays, and were able to socialize. I was very glad that my son went there.

When I sent my child to Hillwood Playcare I couldn't believe my good luck in finding it! Everyone said to go to St. George which was full and in not going there, we've had the greatest experience imaginable.

Hillwood Playcare is one of the best kept secrets in town. The faculty is outstanding and both of my children have always adored their teachers. The music and art program are such a bonus! We started at HWPC in 2009 and can't recommend it enough. This is not a school that only cares about money as the other reviewer stated. They have a couple of fundraisers a year (Fall Carnival and Spring Musical) and all money raised is to improve the school. If you are looking for a wonderful and loving environment then you should look at HWPC. This is also an excellent place for working mothers as their baby room starts at 6 weeks and they have early and late care. WE LOVE HWPC!!

What I love about Hillwood.... everything! Within a few months of starting the "purple room" last year, the improvement in my child's social skills and vocabulary were astounding. I consider the teachers, room mom's, church members, and parent council like family. Everyone at the school knows my child, understands/supports my views/parenting practices and cares for my family. I strongly recommend Hillwood Playcare for the children of West Nashville!

I would tell every parent I know that Hillwood Playcare is a great enviorment for all children! The adminstration is wonderful, rooms are clean, and staff is great! My daughter's teachers (that is right both of them!) have degrees in early childhood education. The enrichment opportunities at Hillwood Playcare include a full time art instructor and music teacher (each with respective degrees!). My daughter loves Hillwood Playcare.

I am not sure about the reviewer before me but I have been at Hillwood Playcare with my two children for six years and have had an phenomenal experience. The teachers are wonderful and the staff is caring. I have never known them to care about money so I am not sure what she means by that comment. I would highly recommend this preschool to any parent in Nashville. My oldest child was better prepared for a competitive private school in town than most of his classmates who had attended other preschools. My children loved going every day and were sad when they couldn't go. Please do not let one unhappy person taint your view of this great place. This is our last year and I will cry at the thought of not returning!

This is the worst place ever to send your child to. I dont recommend this preschool to any parent. They care more about money than they do the kids. They have had several great teachers but recently they have got rid of them all. They still have a few great ones but i was terribly upset when i found out my childs teacher wasn't there anymore.
