Mt. Prospect Park District has been operational for more than 60 years. Spread on more than 450 acres of land, the park district provides a wide variety of recreational programs, facilities and services to more than 200,000 people. Located in Mount Prospect, Ill., it comprises more than 35 parks, golf courses, playgrounds, ball diamonds, and biking and walking paths. Mt. Prospect Park District s recreational facilities include a more than 90,000-square-foot complex, housing a fitness center, aerobic and strength training studio, gymnasium, indoor pool, sand volleyball, racquetball courts and a children's wing. The district s Friendship Park Conservatory features a working greenhouse and atrium, seasonal display spaces, outdoor garden area and meeting rooms. It hosts several festivals and gatherings annually, including outdoor educational and craft classes for children, adult seminars in the areas of gardening, landscaping and floral arranging.
