Patients over 40 years of age, on certain medications, with unexplained vision loss or with a family history of one of these problems should also have an annual dilation.

Eye Exam
Because eye problems are more common for those over 50, annual eye exams are recommended. An annual eye exam is also best for children, teenagers and contact lens wearers because their vision changes most. Between 20 and 50 years of age most people have an exam every two years.
