Very professional boarding stable. I was impressed with the indoor arena. The horses are fenced in 40 acres and they have the freedom to run all day in a natural environment. The stalls for horse owners too lazy to catch their horse looked very clean too. You can tell they are mucked on a daily basis. Very happy I found this place!

This place is fantastic! Wes and Ronda have an awesome attitude and will help anyone from a novice to experienced rider with advice or referrals for anything you would ever need for your horse. The place is kept clean, everything works ( gates get banged up but doesn't mean they dont work, auto waterers work, sometimes they freeze up in -60 degree weather which is to be expected, but then they manually water horses) they do numerous rounds checking on horses and I know for a fact they do them every evening since im out there usually 5-6 days a week. They have good hay (which is hard to argue their hay is bad since the horses look well feed and most have hay bellysincluding my grey gelding ), They have a passion for horses and care about all of them, for example i have an elderly horse (1/2 that i own) that is having a tough time keeping weight this winter and spring and they put an extra bale of hay in the pen for the geldings just for him and ask about him and keep me updated all the time. They ride, their kids compete, and they have done some breeding over numerous years so they know what they are doing. Their fences are cable, there are no barbwire fences anywhere near their pens. They have an awesome outdoor arena and their indoor came in handy this winter. I love coming out here and i'm out there quite a bit. Wes and Ronda are great people, you should want to get to know them and be apart of the North Forty Family. I will say this however, I also know who commented below and gave this awful review below... she boarded her horse for like 5 months rarely came out, complained about everything under the sun, and was crazier than a loon. This is not a fancy, ritzy, boarding stable with a turn out service, it is a family ran business, and you are treated like family when you are out there. I recommend it to everyone on facebook and who personally ask me where to board!!!! I love this place!

I find I must submit a rebuttal to the 1st 2 reviews as they are generated by the same individual. I can personally vouch for the fact that everything this person is saying is false and only intended to create trouble for the North Forty stables. I can attest to the fact that NO animal goes without water! If the richie waterers freeze, Wes and Rhonda manually water the animals! The individual that posted the bad reviews neglected to mention that she was informed that the horses had been watered that day and that when she insisted on bringing her own water out, the animal refused to drink because it was already satisfied! I also ask this, at -60 below(as this person graciously mentioned) who hasn't had their water freeze? Wickums work feverishly to make sure that no animal goes without water in those conditions! I also know for a fact that NONE of the animals stand in manure as the stalls are cleaned daily and the open lots are cleaned once a week! I know this because on the rare occassions that the Wickums bobcat is in for service they use MY machinery to clean! All of the open lots have shelters and the feeders are moved regularly to be able to clean up any excess twine. I have NEVER seen the Wickums remove a blanket from a horse EVER! If the owner wishes the horse to have a blanket on, Wes and Rhonda go out of their way to make sure the blanket is on, even IF the owner does a garbage job of putting it on or the horse works it off! As for horses that that may have incurred injury, I know for a fact that the Wickums make every effort possible to contact the owners about it! They even go so far as to treat any injured animal (out of their own pocket in many cases!) as if it was their own horse! This woman is simply lashing out because she has no honest knowledge of what it takes to own and care for a horse. If she had 25 years of actually experience she would never have written this review. Sorry honey, but riding your friends horse once in a while 25 years again does not mean you know anything about horses. I would recommend North Forty stables to anyone! (and I have on many occasions!)
