I emailed this shop from their website email. I simply asked if they worked on VW brakes. I was contacted by phone the next day by Nichole and was informed that they did do VW brake work. I let her know that my VW van was a 79 model and needed rear brakes and would be towed to their shop by wrecker. She said that would be fine, so I had the van towed to their shop,(approx. 20 miles). Nichole called me by phone and said the owner didn't want to work on my VW because it was not a running vehicle? I told Nichole that the van did in fact run and drive very well, but needed rear brakes. Nichole said that the owner said if the van runs why did it come in on a wrecker? Well...if you don't have brakes Mr. Mechanic...you shouldn't drive a vehicle! Or, is this information not widely known in the auto service industry? Anyway, my van simply needed rear brakes and I asked if they would repair the rear brakes, I would drive it out. I believe that since my van had surface rust and was in need of body restoration, and came in on a wrecker, that the owner simply assumed that the van didn't run. The ignition key went with the wrecker to the Norris Wheel and Brake shop, and it would have been very easy for a mechanic, (or a 3rd grader) to turn the key and see that the van would crank right up! Long story short, I had to have the van towed,(at my expense) to a reputable shop just down the street that works on foreign and domestic autos. Inconvenience, poor communication, and wasted time are my 1st thoughts when asked to recommend, "Norris Wheel & Brake" shop.
