General Info
Holy Wisdom Monastery, located in Middleton, WI is a non-denominational spirituality center and Benedictine monastery. All are welcome! Our peaceful setting helps you rest and relax on your retreat so you can return home renewed and refreshed. Come for a day, an overnight or more and experience our loving Benedictine hospitality. If coming with a group, our comfortable meeting rooms in the retreat & guest house and monastery building provide space for 4 to 300 people. These spaces are simply decorated to avoid distractions and allow your group to accomplish what you came here to do. The monastery’s main building was awarded the highest rating in the US for environmental and energy conservation design in 2010 (LEED Platinum) and is still one of the highest rated eco-designed buildings in the United States. The campus, situated on 130 acres of restored prairie, oak savanna and wetlands, includes nature trails, Lost Lake, a guided meditation trail and two buildings used by groups for meeting and event space, overnight accommodations and meals. Groups will find our space well-equipped for small and large meetings, with a range of room sizes. Our largest room, the assembly room, accommodates 300 people. Our kitchen sources local produce and in the summer, we often use products the sisters’ have grown in their gardens. The monastery’s trails connect to the North Mendota Wildlife Area and we are conveniently located near Governor Nelson State Park for people who seek additional hiking area. Currently, about 60% of electrical usage at Holy Wisdom Monastery is generated from our on-site solar panels. By 2024, we expect 100% of the monastery's electrical usage will be generated onsite using fully renewable sources. In addition, we have two EV Charging stations - Tesla-specific charger & universal EV charger - available on-site for guests.Holy Wisdom Monastery, located in Middleton, WI is a non-denominational spirituality center and Benedictine monastery.
