We had the pleasure of working with the Pozo Goldstein firm in a complicated and lengthy case involving the immigration status of our best employee. Steve Goldstein and Marcela Gyires provided an outstanding 1-2 punch for us – I can’t say enough about they handled our case. They won us the cancellation of removal we were seeking even in light of a felony conviction on our employee’s record. It was a two-year battle with the immigration system in a scenario where less than 2% of immigrants are successful.

We had to take the fight all the way to the Board of Immigration Appeals on two separate occasions. The first appeal was to establish that the felony was not an aggravated felony and the second was to prove that the immigration judge did not properly exercise discretion when denying cancellation of removal. We involved Pozo Goldstein from the very beginning of the criminal proceedings to help protect our employee’s immigration status. It was the smartest decision we have ever made.

Steve and Marcela put a legal strategy in place from the very first day and we stuck to the plan and fought the fight. Our employee just had a tearful reunion with is family and can finally get back to living his life and pursuing the American Dream.
