The cost of root canal therapy is dependent on how severe your problem is as well as the number, location and shape of the canals in the infected tooth. No two teeth are alike and all situations are different. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the offending tooth with dental x-rays and pulp testing procedures before an estimate can be given. This can only be done in our office, so we cannot accurately determine the cost of your root canal procedure over the phone or the internet. Your insurance company may reimburse you for some or all of the cost. Before you leave our office, we will provide you with a completed insurance claim form, so that your claim can be expedited as quickly as possible.

The pulp extends from the crown of he tooth to the tip of the roots where it connects to the tissues surrounding the root. The pulp is important during a tooth’s growth and development. However, once a tooth is fully mature it can survive without the pulp, because the tooth continues to be nourished by the tissues surrounding it.

Over the past several years, Endodontics has been vastly improved by modern technology. We have kept up with these improvements by constantly upgrading the equipment and technology in our office, and staying on the cutting edge of Endodontics by continually taking new educational courses with our staff.
Apicoectomy
At the initial visit the endodontist will examine the tooth, take x-rays and discuss your treatment options. If you and your endodontist choose apicoectomy, the apicoectomy will be scheduled at that time for a future date.

Since root canal therapy preserves the bone that could be lost from a dental extraction, you will also be maintaining the health of your jaw. Cosmetically, a tooth that has been treated with root canal therapy and the appropriate dental restoration will look the same as your natural tooth after the treatment. Most affected sites with a postoperative NICO diagnosis have been in edentulous areas. However, some patients with long, frustrating histories of pain associated with Endodontically treated teeth have been presented the treatment option of tooth extraction followed by periapical curettage in an attempt to alleviate pain. The American Association of Endodontists cannot condone this practice when NICO is suspected. Because of the lack of clear etiological data, a NICO diagnosis should be considered only as a last resort when all possible local Odontogenic causes for facial pain have been eliminated. If a NICO lesion is suspected in relation to an Endodontically treated tooth, if possible, periradicular surgery and curettage should be attempted, not extraction.
