My son and I had a wonderful dinner: escargot, onion soup, rack of lamb, and a delicious duck. We topped it off with cream broulee cappuccinos. The owner was there and was very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was friendly and service was prompt. We had an early dinner on a Tuesday, so we didn't experience the noise other reviewers mention. Prices seem right for the quality of the dishes served.

Went on christmas day. New to Miami and never had heard of this place- just happened to be walking by. I was pleasantly surprised! They do not have a full bar-boo! but do have beer and wine. They have great bread and the server was very good with food descriptions. I started with mixed grns with Goat cheese- awesome! and my date had the salad with St. Marcelin cheese. He really enjoyed it. The food did take awhile but we just munched on the great bread. They were busy so what did I expect? I had the Duck confit as my entree and he had the roast chicken, which were both really great. The portions were generous which was also great. We were both very happy with the meal and will be going back. again and again.

Well, this will be less of a review and more of a rundown of the food and experience Ive had at George's in the Grove on my first 2 visits. Ive been there twice and Ive yet to order an entree. This is for 2 reasons. First, for some reason the 2 times Ive been I wasnt super hungry. Second, the apps are HUGE. Here is a quick rundown of what Ive had there. Bear with me because Im long-winded :)\r \r Mediterranean Vegetable Salad w/ Lobster & Truffle Oil - This dish was surprisingly awesome. I was surprised because usually when you think salad you think ""greens of some sort w/ veggies on top"". This one was ALL VEGGIES. Julienne carrot, zucchini, squash, and cauliflower all mixed together and topped with Maine lobster - both claw and tail. Although the menu said ""truffle oil"" mine tasted more lemony, like the veggies had been marinated a little bit. They still were very crisp and fresh. The dish was light and good after the tartar, plus I got more than my daily intake of veggies. This could be split between 2 people as well.\r \r Another reason to check this place out - George himself. The guy is a good guy, funny, and likes to make customers feel special. I knew him from the Le Bouchon days and told him he probably didnt remember me but he would most likely remember the ladies I brought to his old haunt and that got a good laugh. They give free glasses of champagne (at least everyone Ive seen in the place has got one) and George is constantly hustling around, whistling like a songbird to get his staff's attention, and shouting things in French. Really makes you feel like youre out of Miami. \r Definitely give it a shot. The Grove needs the business and I cant afford to lose another quality restaurant in my 'hood!\r \r George's in the Grove\r 3145 Commodore Plaza\r Miami, FL \r 305 444 7878

What a great surprise to have a restaurant that you want to return to again, and again. I have been here several times since they opened and everytime iseems to get better. The Duck pizza is to die for, so is the beef filet, and fish dishes. Great atmosphere, and design. Feels like you've been transported to New York, or San Francisco. Service has been exceptional. Would recommend to anyone to make the trip to the Grove for dinner, or lunch.

I went there twice and it was awful, honestly, i waited 40 min to get a table for me and my wife, they gave us a glass of ""supposed champagne"" which is actually just cheap French sparkling wine, the noise inside was horrible, we had to yell at each other in order to be able to have a normal conversation. The owner,George is yelling aroung, whistling every 2 seconds, announcing stupid stuff over his microphone, it just adds up to the horrible noise that made our dinner a nightmare.\r \r About the food, i found it quite expensive : 25-30 dollars for an entree which is just a roasted salmon or a steak tartare ( the portion arent that big and the sauce of the tartar was awful, too much vinegar, fade, ... ) For appetizers we tried the bacalao, the fritters, it was hyper spicy - but it isnt written anywhere on the menu that it was- i couldnt eat them..\r My wife had a caprese salad, very pretty but the mowzzarella isnt buffalo as they say it is, it had completely no taste at all. $13!! and super small !!\r \r The presentation on the plates is really nice and i think the price arent justified.\r \r The wine isnt cheap as well, an average of $5-10 per bottle more expensive than anywhere else.\r \r The desserts are goood.\r We tried the mango tatin, but the rasberry tart wasnt worth $7 !!\r \r The pizzas are very good, good price but only a choice of 3 pizzas... :(\r \r We waited for the food about 25 minutes after the unpolite latin waiter took our order.\r He seemed too busy showing magic tricks to the girls at the table next to ours.\r We asked 3 times for water before someone showed up with a tiny glass of water.\r \r The bread wasnt good, too cooked, and greassy - never saw a french greassy baguette- \r \r Very bad experience the two times we went.\r I do not recommend this restaurant at all\r \r Dont go , just a friendly advice : )
