Smith & Wollensky - Miami Beach

The best view in town and their mojito is great. I bring all the out-of-towers here because it never disappoints. We can go to the beach then sit outdoors in our bathing suits and have a salad/burger ($13-25) or steak/seafood ($28 and up). Getting a good waiter is important, and while we haven't had a bad one yet, Gabriel is our current favorite. He's taken care of us on 3 occasions so it's a solid assessment. They get busy so have reservations or enjoy a walk around the beautiful area while waiting for your table. Sunset and when the cruise ships leave (5:30-6pm) are among the best times to go and it's usually less crowded.

Our family loves to go there after the beach since we can eat outdoors in our bathing suits and enjoy the amazing view. If Matt is there, he is the BEST waiter, but we really get good service from their outdoor staff. We started going regularly when Matt overheard it was our anniversary and brought over a complimentary dessert. It was a very nice touch you rarely see these days. You can buy an expensive steak or eat a $14 hamburger (which for the beach is cheap), and if you don't like it they will take it back and make it right. Their truffled mac & cheese is wonderful. What you can't get anywhere else is the amazing view of Government Cut as the cruise ships are leaving or the sun is setting. After or before your meal walk down to the beach, it's stunning.
