        Overall

        Heska's bakes their own bread and, among other kinds, they make the best vegetarian sandwiches around. They make great soups, too. It's a hole-in-the-wall husband and wife operation and after you've been there a few times, Heska will remember you. Heska's has small tables and you may wait a bit longer than at a fast food restaurant, but you'll be happy you made the trip. It's easy to miss the deli, just east of Wabash, on the north side of Mentone Blvd. (The new Stater Bros. is on that corner.)
