Bought a rheem 50 gal that has some digital flashing light system. Hot water heater doesn't work and the blinking lights are continuous. Constant problems and it is not even 60 days old! HORRIBLE customer service. "Someone" is supposed to call tomorrow to "see" about an appt.

Right.

Rheem heaters from your local plumber are the most heavy duty units you can buy. The heaters from home Depot are a cheaper quality and parts are not available from home Depot. You should support your loval family owned plumbing companies and stay away from troubles like this.

We have a 2 1/2 yr old Rheem Fury 40 gallon water heater that was bought to replace a 35 yr old Rheem that has had the pilot go out 2 times now. The first time it went out, the installer came and got it relit. It went out on Dec. 6th and we have been trying for 2 days to get the installer to come fix it and keep getting told he has to find out if they sell the part. I went to the web site and tried getting a repair person from their list of contractors to only get told that they didn't want to come the 15-20 miles to repair one they hadn't sold. This is ridiculous considering what we paid for this water heater!!!!! If we have to replace this water heater, we will NOT be buying a Rheem if they can not be serviced and parts not sold to fix them.

After having my Rheem water heater installed and the water turned on to fill the tank, water started pouring out from behind the module. Called Rheem and they said it was the anode element. Would send another one. Sent another one received it 2 days. Installed it and it turns out it was a mfg. defect. Rubber gasket was left off element when originally put together. Water heats fine but was frustrated with trying to get another plumber out to install new element as the one assigned by Rheem was going to be the week end plus 2 more days before they could get out.

I had a negative experience with Rheem water heaters as well. After spending nearly an hour at Home Depot waiting for my unit to be taken from the top shelf I finally got my heater back to my house. I dismantled the box and immediately noticed a huge dent on the side of the tank.

After doing further research I also learned that this is not actually a genuine Rheem product. Apparently almost everything they sell at the box stores is a knock off in some way or another.

Buy at your own risk

We just move in to our dream home with two new reem water heater. Both quit working less than a month. Call mfg. they said they don't cover labor so we are on our own. We call the local service guy and they can't service this after checking it because reem don't give service manual??? Call mfg. again. They said we are welcome to return it to where we got them???? Our kids are out of hot water for a day and it's already a nightmare with freezing cold water in dec. ...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I had just bought a brand new condo unit with a brand new RHEEM hot water heater. Upon coming home from work one day (the unit was only about 6 months old) I had discovered that the hot water heater had started leaking water out of the top expansion/pressure valve. I called the company and they tried to tell me this was normal!!! They said I was going to have to pay to have a contractor come out and fix the problem even though this unit was suppose to be under warranty. After calling around and speaking with several other contractors in the business, I had discovered that RHEEM was trying to cut costs by trying to avoid sending out service techs on warranty jobs like this. The other contractors that I had talked to were helpful enough to guide me in the right direction. They told me that this problem is not normal and instructed me to call RHEEM back and demand to speak with a manager. After several hours arguing on the phone with the manager, he finally set up an appointment for a service Technician to come out and take a look at it. He told me that if it was not the their unit that was faulty, I was going to have to pay out of my pocket for this repair. Make a long story short, it turned out to be a bad new part on the BRAND NEW HOT WATER HEATER and the company gave ME grief about it. How dare them! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Not happy!

Made by Rheem and Genuine Rheem are two different things. Rheem manufactures water heaters for many companies. The Genuine Rheem Brand is the only name that should be associated with Rheem's quality. These "Made by" brands are often sold at the big box stores, and installed by the home owner or an installer paid by the store. Labor Warranty issues are then the responsibility of the home owner, or the installer contracted by the big box store. You can't do better than having a Genuine Rheem water heater installed by a professional plumber like Lou Carbone Plumbing. Warranty issues are resolved easily by calling us. We take care of the rest. Check out our "Peace of Mind" service agreements wich can help all of your plumbing, heating and cooling equipment operate properly longer. www.loucarboneplumbing.net

Guy could have care less

I called this place based on the reviews online because our water heater broke and my husband was out of town... I needed someone to come out and look at it. When I called, the guy on the phone could have cared less and wasn't interested.. He told me he was on another job so I told him that I guess I would call someone else.. He said "OK" and it seemed obvious he didnt' care about getting the business.

Great Value

I had Reliable Heating&Air Conditioning do my work with a new Furnace, A/C, & water heater. So far I have saved 20.00 a month and the price was under what Denning and Carson Bros quoted. I'm very tickled to say the least. Forest.
