  • Awful Service, terrible!
    by  on 03/31/2008

I do not recommend Tyson Kennel in Menlo Park to any pet owners. They are incompetent, unprofessional, and overpriced. I trusted this local kennel twice before with my dogs, but never again. The service was rude, degrading, and disrespectful. I was not able to pick my dogs up at the time promised by Tyson Kennel staff and I was charged substantially more than what was quoted when I mistakenly left my dogs in their custody. Once I was able to pick my dogs up, they were wet. They were supposed to have a bath on the day of pickup, I assumed that included a dry as well. Upon insisting they be dry before leaving, for health reasons, I was informed that I would have to wait much longer. This crisis could have been much easier to cope with had their been helpful, friendly assistance. Conversely, the woman working the front desk was undermining my frustration and not considerate of the customer at all. This lack of compassion towards people only makes me wonder how they treat our best friends.

  • My German Shepard Died!
    by  on 02/21/2008

After only having my dog 9 months my GS that I purchased from Tyson- Whitmore Kennels died. When he was taken to the best animal hospital in northern CA I was told that he had defective kidneys from birth and that his only hope was a transplant. I knew I could not afford that and he could still die. When I called Randy at Tyson kennels she told me "Well I don't know what to say, but none of my other dogs are have had this problem. I asked her if she would do something, like a partial credit toward a healthy dog or a refund if my dog dies. Her reply was a quick and rude NO! I would not buy a German Shepard from Tyson- Whitmore kennels again. I buried my beloved animal in a pet cemetery. The cost of the GS was $3000.00 and to bury him was $1400.00. This was an expensive and very hard emotional lesson to learn, I got taken for $3000.00 and had to watch my dog suffer terribly from failing kidney's and then I had to put him to sleep. I was with him to the end. I would not tell anyone who loves animals to purchase a dog from Whitmore-Tyson Kennels. Randy could have cared a less what was happening to our dog, our family, or the cost we were out in dealing with our dog. My vet bill was $6600.00 I am still paying on that bill 2 years later and my dog is dead. Thanks Randy, your business practices and concern for the animals goes far beyond any words.
