Dental Examination
At your first visit, youâ€™ll receive a comprehensive oral exam, x-rays if necessary, and a sense of relaxation most people only get at the spa. Ask for hot towels to soothe your tension, or a blanket if youâ€™re cold. We also have neck pillows and lip balm in stock and can pipe in a Pandora station of your choice â€“ whatever you need to feel comfortable and calm.
X-rays
We offer standard and panoramic x-rays to keep an eye on whatâ€™s happening inside your smile. Panoramic x-rays take an image of your whole jaw, while standard x-rays capture â€œsnapshotsâ€ of your teeth. We also use a DIAGNOdent scanner. This tool can detect compromised areas in teeth before they are visible on an x-ray, often letting us prevent cavities from forming in the first place.
Oral Cancer Screening
When we do our visual and manual exam for oral cancer, weâ€™re looking for more than just abnormal tissue inside your mouth. Weâ€™ll examine your face, neck, and throat too. Like other cancers, oral cancer is at its most treatable if we catch it early. Thatâ€™s one of the many reasons we encourage patients from McMinnville, Amity, and Dayton to visit us twice a year.

Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a mineral that helps restore the strength and health of tooth enamel. While fluoride is found in some foods and in most municipal tap water, we recommend fluoride treatments for both children and adults at every visit. Having consistent fluoride treatments may help you avoid cavities and keep your teeth strong for life.

Fillings
In our office, we prefer to use composite fillings. Composite fillings are white, tooth-colored fillings that are made of a resin composite (plastic) material instead of metal. For patients who prefer them, or when composite fillings are not an option, we also provide amalgam. Amalgam fillings are made of metal and are durable and effective.

Porcelain veneers are one of the ways we can help! This is a permanent procedure in which we prepare your teeth by reshaping the surface and applying an incredibly strong adhesive. Then we place a thin, color-perfected piece of porcelain over each of your teeth. You can brush and floss normally, and laugh, smile, and talk unabashedly â€“ looking as if you have brand new teeth!

A bridge is a restoration that holds replacement teeth in place by connecting to healthy teeth on either side. We use metal-free crowns when possible, and also offer porcelain fused to metal crowns (PFM).

Restorative Dentistry

Root Canal Treatment
Crowns are an option for keeping teeth that are badly compromised, and bridges are an option to replace a small number of missing teeth. Crowns are basically a tooth-shaped helmet. Whenever there is a significant amount of decay, or if youâ€™ve had a root canal, the remaining tooth is prepared to receive a crown, then the crown is placed and will stay for years, acting just like your natural tooth.

Periodontal Surgery
Dr. Bollwitt has experience with full-mouth and cosmetic rehabilitation, oral surgery, and periodontal surgery, to name a few. He is excited to be part of a profession that allows him to meet people from the community and develop solid relationships with them over time. He played baseball at Lewis-Clark State College as an undergraduate and earned the OHSU American College of Prosthodontics award in 2014. When heâ€™s not in the office, he enjoys being active; he likes to hike, ski, mountain climb and travel with his wife Jordan and dog Cora.

Dentures
Dentures are a lot like partials, but they typically replace a full arch of teeth. Whenever your dentist says â€œfull arch,â€ she means the full set of top or bottom teeth. Dentures are designed to replicate the appearance of your natural teeth as much as possible, and are custom fit to your particular mouth. You can wear them all day, eat with them, and take them out at night for cleaning and to sleep.

Our best option for missing teeth is implants. Implants are a titanium post that replaces your toothâ€™s natural root, then one or many replacement teeth are supported by the titanium post. There are lots of different options for implants, and Dr. Wark will be pleased to discuss these with you. She is certified to place implant posts as well as the restorations. She will create your replacement teeth and care for your entire implant as she would your natural teeth.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Whenever teeth need to be removed, Dr. Wark will thoroughly assess the situation and either perform the surgery herself or refer her patients to a specialist. She typically refers patients for wisdom tooth removal or in the case of a bony impaction, but she performs minor extractions with the greatest care and precision for all of her patients, even children.

Youâ€™ll just apply gel to the tray and wear your trays 30 minutes a day for two weeks. Many of our patients notice results much sooner, but the regimen can brighten your smile up to eight shades!

Upon finishing her studies at OHSU in 1999, Dr. Wark completed a one-year residency in General Dentistry while serving with the Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. It was there that she rounded out her education by learning specialized surgical procedures involving extractions and gingival health. Dr. Wark spent the remainder of her military career in England, and then returned home to join and eventually buy her fatherâ€™s practice. Dr. Wark spends her free time playing golf and pickleball, as well as enjoying her three childrenâ€™s activities ranging from basketball to whatever sport is in season.
