I went here just as a walk in and I really loved how they did my hair. I didnt know how I wanted but I know I wanted a change and they gave me something great

Overall

I just received a horrible Shellac manicure from this place today. It was my first time there and I had such high hopes but was sorely disappointed. I will never go back there again.

The gal who did it, Daniele, was completely unfriendly and couldn’t get me out of the chair fast enough. No, “Hello, my name is Daniele.” or “Thanks for coming in.” not even a “Hello, how are you doing today?” I really couldn’t even believe the level of unprofessionalism there. My “manicure” lasted approximately 17 minutes.

And I shouldn’t even be using the word “manicure”… if I were to have gotten a manicure, I would have had my cuticles clipped, (at least pushed back) and oiled. I perhaps would have had a short, but lovely hand massage, and would have had time spent on shaping and buffing my nails…. absolutely none of which happened at this place, so it definitely should not be called a manicure. She didn’t cut my cuticles, or push them back -- nothing. Not even with her thumb nail as she went along or anything! No oils or softeners were used and I definitely didn’t get a hand massage, which honestly, I could have lived without if everything else were to have been great. But the cuticle thing, I mean, come on! My cuticles were in horrible shape and clearly needed attention! I was going in for a MANICURE for crying out loud!

The end result was horrible. There are massive streaks on every one of my nails. A 3-year old could have seriously done some better painting. Some of my nails weren’t even fully painted. I asked for semi-white tips and some of them weren’t even painted down as far as my true nail tips went – so you can see the white she painted on, AND some of the tips of my real nails. It looks ridiculous. And speaking of the white tips, they are all different thicknesses… no uniformity, which looks amateur and ultimately ugly.

Maybe I was just there on an “off” day? Who knows. I just know that that will be my one and only time going to The Loop. I could have maybe looked past the bad manicure if the gal would have been friendly, but there wasn’t even that going on, so they are off my list. What a bummer.

The atmosphere is great, and the service is amazing. I have already scheduled my second appointment here. The Loop is my favorite salon in Marquette.
