        Any closer to the water & you'd be wet

        Best Vacation in 25 yrs @ a price from 25 yrs ago: I just had the best vacation I'd had in years. A real "KEYSey" vacation. No stress and no worry. The pricing got me there last week, the fun and relaxation will get me back next year. The floating room wasn't the Hilton but I didn't expect that ,nor did I want that. Don't expect room service. The other guests were always friendly as were the owners.



        The floating dock kept the houseboat on the level with a gentle motion even in 25 mph winds. (If you have a lot of gear, bring a small dolly, the dock get longer with each trip) Because the bay is a deadend (caused by causeways built on both sides) the water is a bit silty with white sediment but the water is not scummy in the least. Lots of mullet schooling about and a few large angelfish were seen at the dock.



        Good central location for Key West partying (bring a designated driver) as well as the diving sites.



        The only problems were 'sugar' ants attracted by my sugar left in my coffee cup & a missing Toilet Paper holder. The owners set out bait right away and I cleaned up my mess, no more ants. They hung a new TP holder the next day. I have no doubt that they'd do most anything asked of them to make your stay pleasant.



        The rooms are about the same size as any motel room but the shower is a tight fit, much like a shower in an RV would be, I'm well over 200 lbs and it worked out ok.



        Bottom Line.............. If you want to spend your money on a room go elsewhere, if you want a relaxing room that lets you save the money to spend on charter boats, diving, good seafood restaurants and partying, this is the place to stay.
