With a big ""thumbs up"" in the May 2010 issue of Los Angeles Magazine (cover feature, ""The Ultimate Pet Guide!""), now everybody will know about Two Hands Four Paws. The thing is, they do much, much more than rehab miracles for worst case scenarios. They have helped me with two of my canine companions, one who was dying of cancer and one who was a rescue and had soft tissue damage from being locked up in a crate for nine months. In both cases, not only did they not help my hounds through their troubling medical issues, but I also felt a profound sense of personal support throughout the whole process (in one case, improving the end-of-life experience for my dog, and in the other, getting my dog's life back to what she'd lost).

If dogs could speak, this is where they would ask to come. All you have to do is look into the eyes of any fuzz kid who comes here to know. What the staff offers at Two Hands Four Paws, can't be taught. It begins in the heart and every outcome grows from there. The difference lies in every single member of the staff truly loving what they do. You can't fool a dog, they know. It can be a tough road, but with the expertise offered here, the journey, the bond you share and the relief your dog gains, is priceless. My heartfelt thanks to everyone at Two Hands Four Paws for giving my dog back his freedom of mobility. The bright eyes, sloppy kisses & tail wags I've received in thanks, are all I need to know that miracles can & do happen. I've seen it with my own eyes & will forever be grateful. Thank you!

Two Hands Four Paws is amazing. They are there for you when you need them. The therapists work canine muscles so they can improve with gentle and supportive exercises. Then the lucky dog gets a wonderful and relaxing massage. It is great to see the doggie stretch and relax... sometimes even snore! I can not say enough about how they helped my dog and ME.

After a ""successful"" hemilaminectomy on the 5th and 6th lumbar discs of my Dandie Dinmont Terrier, to correct herniations in January of 2005, he returned home, unable to walk with his hind legs. Not wanting further surgery I found Leslie, and Two Hands Four Paws. Swimming, exercises, and massage therapy produced a 100% fine walker within two weeks. It's now March of 2010 and Conan continues to run around happily with his brother and sister. Leslie, her staff, the entire experience was beyond all expectations. She knows her stuff and truly does care.

When our female shepherd mix developed severe over-calcification in her joints, we were dismayed. She had such difficulty in getting about, we were certain she would have to be destroyed. Thanks to the wonderful folks at Two Hands Four Paws, and their regimen of massage, swim therapy, gentle exercise, and common sense, our dog became healthier and moved with greater ease and comfort. I heartily recommend their services to anyone whose dog has a mobility issue.

we brought our dog in with a diagonosis of ""a partial tear in each acl"". the knowledge, concern and love that everyone on staff here puts into the work is absolutely amazing. we didn't do surgery and now 7 months later our dog is doing fantastical. he has built up scar tissue thru extensive exercises, swimming, massage and lasering. the staff did amazing work on our dog and i was also taught how to work with him at home re icing, walks, exercises, feeding (keeping his weight down). they communicate so well as to make all this information incredibly ""user friendly"". supporting all their knowledge is their unending geniune love for all the dogs that come in. they truly want to heal every dog there and i personally have seen some miracles there!!!

Two Hands and Four Paws have worked with two of my four K-9s--\r SERPICO\r Serpico Wolfgang is a Rotweiller, but just not your ordinary Rotweiller ... he is a Law Enforcement Search Narcotics K-9 who was shot in the line of duty in mid 2003. This resulted in having his left leg amuputated and his left shoulder completely removed. Two Hands Four Paws were contacted and have been his angels ever since--they not only rehabed him immediately after the removal of the surgical staples but they also develoiped a pro-active preventative program to cope with possible osteo-arthritis problems and to strength his remaining front leg and shoulder. Incidentally, this program has made Serpico of the fastest K-9s around. \r Leslie and her staff taught Serpico and myself that the one of the major abnormalities in life, is the incapacity to learn. \r \r TOMI\r Tomi is a mutt, Rhodesian-German Shepherd-Akita ... but he is a gifted mutt. Tomi is a Cadaver K-9 who was trapped on 9/11 in the South Tower when it went down, taking the life of his handler. He was a mere hour away from being euthanized because he was so agressive when I was contacted and immediately adoped him. Tomi has worked at many catastrophes but the one that almost ended his career was a mud slide in California where he tore his medial-collateral ligament in his right leg after sinking into the mud almost up to his chest. An injury that should have resulted in his paw being frozen in one position, making it almost impossible for him to walk normally and never being able to run again. It wouls have ended his career. A shinning Knight, Dr. Erin Wilson at ASEC (the same Doctor who amputed Serpico's leg and removed his shoulder), performed a new untested procedure that helped put Tomi back together again (sort of like what didn't happen to Humpty Dumpty).\r Leslie and her staff were contacted and immediately developed a program that not only allowing Tomi to walk with his normal gate but also made that leg as strong as ever! Now going on 12 (one of the oldest working K-9s around), thanks to Leslie and her Staff, Tomi will retire soon pain-free and with 100% use of a leg and paw that could have been a problem for the rest of his life.\r The Pack\r Learn more at thek-9chronicles

I will always be grateful to Leslie, Shawn, Valerie and the entire staff at Two Hands Four Paws. Sammi, my beloved bichon, was 12 years old and having difficulties walking and would continuously fall. I took him to a ""specialist"" and was told that Sammi needed a risky surgery that may or may not work. Upon a recommendation, I took Sammi to Two Hands Four Paws. He went once a week for a masage, swimming and exercises. We also did daily excercises at home. Within a few months, Sammi was racing up and down stairs and back to his playful self. \r \r Sammi was then diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his rear leg which required surgery and radiation. Through it all, Sammi continued his physical therapy, which helped him remain strong and healthy throughout the challenging ordeal. Sammi lived another 3 wonderful, happy years. \r \r Without the dedication of the staff at Two Hands Four Paws, I know that I would not have had that extra time with Sammi. Thank you Leslie et al for your amazing work . You definitely made a difference in mine and Sammi's lives.
