Stay away from Midas Auto Services in Latham. The employees all seem genuine and friendly, bu they are bad mechanics looking to make more money off consumers. I have gotten work done at Midas on three separate occasions within the last year, and was never completely satisfied. The last time I went to Midas, they charged me $800 to install new front shocks and struts, and told me that they gave me a deep discount. I took it back a month later because the front end was squeaking, and the manager told me that it needed an additional $350 worth of work because they did not replace the 15 year old strut plates, both of which mysteriously broke after they installed the new struts. I told them that they should not have put 15 year old car parts back on the car, and I would have paid more initially to have new plates put in. The manager said that it was no ones fault, and then gave me three different price estimates in one conversation. The new struts are damaged, and the car's safety is impaired. Do not trust this company.
