Science-based care, life-changing recovery

General Info
Wellington Retreat is located in Lantana, a city that lies along the glittering intercostal, offering sunshine and warm weather to visitors and inhabitants. Here, on Seacrest Blvd, is the only addiction and psychiatric rehabilitation center in the state that is run by a addiction psychiatrist involved in all treatment decisions. With Florida being the rehabilitation capital of the country, this may sound crazy—and it is. Wellington Retreat is more than proud of their expert staff who are firmly dedicated to the healing process of each and every one of their patients. Using research-backed, cutting-edge practices, our patients receive the state-of-the-art treatment they deserve. Our leading neuropsychiatrist and addictionologist, Dr. Robert A. Moran, welcomes each patient, spending quality time with them in order to achieve a correct diagnosis and an appropriate, effective treatment plan that will fit their individual needs. Oftentimes, individuals who suffer from substance abuse disorders will have an unknown co-occurring psychiatric disorder as well. Therefore, Wellington Retreat believes in treating patients for each disorder at the same time, as this ensures their complete recovery. Wellington Retreat welcomes everyone with open arms. We are here to assure you that leading a sober life is possible. We are here to lend a helping and understanding hand. We are here for you.

We cannot have expectations when our loved one enters treatment. It is our job to let the Treatment Team and Doctor use their professional knowledge and experience to help patients suffering from addiction and mental disorders. People must understand that addiction is a mental disorder and whether they've used drugs or not, each person that goes into treatment should encounter a similar structure. Medicine will be specific to that individual and along with community therapy, will start to work. Wellington Retreat has created the most unique and successful program by integrating community therapy with medicine, and has given hope to those who have lost it. I was a patient for over 11 months and what I have seen is a miracle. I read all these negative reviews and I understand where they are coming from, however they are not a reliable source of information. Something I have learned over time about families is the lack of education. Wellington Retreat hosts a Family Weekend Program every 2 months in an attempt to educate the families and get them to see how recovery works. What was discovered is that when we don't have the families educated, their loved one rarely succeeds in treatment. Whether it is from co-dependency or enabling, families are one of the most crucial components of one's recovery and without them on board, there is very little chance for success. Wellington Retreat takes the time and resources to educate each family member in hopes to help them better understand mental disorders and addiction issues. I have never seen a more loving community than Wellington Retreat, and I have been to several facilities. Wellington Retreat isn't a place you come to for 30 days and go home, because that doesn't work. It is a place you come to change who you are and learn how to become an independent, productive member of society. People can write as many negative things about this facility, but the fact is it works, and if you're one of those people that truly wants to get healthy, this is your best chance. I'm not asking you to take my word for it, but at least check it out and make the decision for yourself, don't let someone else make it for you.

Just the idea of telling someone about your drinking problem feels uncomfortable. When people know about your problem, they would often look at you with disgust and judgmental eyes. But the people of Wellington Retreat are different. They were never judgmental. In fact, they looked at me with genuine concern. Moreover, it was my first time with seeing a therapist, which is why I am really glad I when my therapist and the staff here were very understanding to my situation. There’s nothing wrong with this facility. They are just someone who truly cares for you... In fact, I actually look forward for every meeting I have and I felt better every time I go home from each session.

Over the years, I have helped many family members and friends get into various treatment programs. Unfortunately, many of these treatment centers did not provide the level of care they promised. Recently, I was introduced to Wellington Retreat and was impressed by what I heard from people who completed their treatment there. I especially liked the unique and innovative hands on approach of the treatment center’s CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Robert Moran. I have a close friend of mine who has been in and out of MANY treatment centers but NONE of them were able to get down to the real core issues he was dealing with and successfully treat him. On his behalf, I contacted Wellington Retreat and he was on a flight the next day. I am so happy to report that only a short time later, I saw my friend and was SHOCKED by the person that stood before me. It was unbelievable to see my friend transformed from someone who had hit rock bottom to the sober respectful and responsible person I once knew. I can say without any hesitation he would not be that way today if it wasn't for Dr. Moran and his incredible staff at Wellington Retreat. I would recommend Wellington Retreat to any of my family members, friends or anyone that I really care about. Thank you Wellington Retreat!!!

I would first like to say that i'm very pleased with the services of Wellington Retreat. My cousin was struggling with a prescription pill addiction and just couldn't stop no matter how many times he went into different treatment centers. I don't know what you guys did or how you did it but you have changed my cousins life forever. He now has over 3 months of continuous sobriety and a job! I can't thank you guys enough! I finally have my cousin back!

I love the staff at Wellington Retreat!

Dr. Moran and his team were a lifesaver (literally) during a rough time in my best friend's life. We were all worried about her, and for the longest time we couldn’t get her to get help for her depression and addiction issues.

We finally got Jane to give Wellington Retreat a try. It’s no luxury vacation, and it may not be for everyone, but it was exactly what she needed. Jane needed help in working through her issues and getting sober, not someone to pamper or prescribe her a bunch of different pills. I'm not exactly sure what the process is at Wellington (they don't really let you have much contact with patients while they're there) but it whatever it is, it worked. Jane let Wellington about 90 days later CLEAN and SOBER! Her head was clear and she had a great attitude about her recovery.

One thing she did keep telling us was how great the counselors were and that they really took their time to give each patient the attention they needed. For this I am so thankful for Dr. Moran and the staff of Wellington Retreat. You guys get 5 stars from me!
