As soon as you find out a baby is on the way, veterinarians and pediatricians recommend a feline examination to make sure your cat is free of worms and other parasites and its vaccinations are up-to-date. Indoor cats are at a lower risk than outdoor cats for diseases such as rabies, worms and toxoplasmosis, but parents should be aware that all cats have the potential of infecting your and your family. For example, if a kitten with roundworms eliminates in a litter box and a child puts the fecal matter in his or her mouth, the child could be infected with ocular larval migrans, which could blind the victim. However, the incidence is low, perhaps one or two cases reported each year in the United States, according to Elaine Wexler-Mitchell, D.V.M., who owns The Cat Care Clinic in California

Routine dogs baths along with pedicures, ear cleaning, express anal glands if needed and de-matting. We also do professional lion cuts on cats. We have a complete line of flea and tick control products that are very safe and effective.
Behavioral Disorder Treatment
We also do in house antibody titer testing for Canine Distemper and Parvo virus. This will tell Dr. Chapman if it is necessary to vaccinate your pet. If your pet's antibody titers are high, there is no need to vaccinate your pet for those diseases. Yearly antibody titers are recommended. Sometimes a booster vaccination is recommended if there is a known exposure or outbreak of a deadly virus.

Veterinary Surgery
We provide a full range of soft tissue surgery, including routine sterilizations, feline de-clawing, c-section and growth removals. For all surgeries, we use isoflourane gas anesthesia which is safe and effective. Postoperatively, patients are given a pain injection. This helps to speed up recovery time by allowing the animal to take food and nourishment sooner the next day
Declawing
If your cat tends to be aggressive or anxious, Dr. Hunthausen suggests a visit to an animal behavior consultant and the use of anti-anxiety mediation. Declawing may also help, though alternative methods should be considered first. “If your cat is really nervous, start desensitizing it before your baby comes home,” Dr. Hunthausen recommends. Play a recording of a baby cooing and crying, turn on the mechanical swing, sit in the rocking chair, then give your cat a good reward, he suggests. “Make a game out of it. Associate fun and food with the sounds of a child.
Spaying and Neutering
A. Personality changes that may result from neutering are for the better. Not being distracted by the instinctual need to find a mate helps stop roaming and be calmer, though not less protective of their territory.

Laboratory Services
We now have in house blood machines. We only need 3-6 drops of blood from your pet and 15-30 minutes to give you an answer. These blood machines are FDA approved and are on Air Force 1 and on the battlefields. They do many species of pets such as dogs, cats, birds, lizards and even humans!
