I was in the facility for severe mental health issues after going into a crisis. I was in an abusive household and also had severe trauma from the past. The abuse I was going through at the time was pushed off as me being dramatic. I also struggle with Tourette Syndrome and was bullied by many staff members there. One went as far as to tell the other patients that I posted videos on youtube explaining how to fake my condition, which obviously was not true.
I expressed my struggle with my mental health issues and intrusive thoughts and the nurse practitioner repeated "You can control your thoughts" I am now diagnosed with OCD and understand why I had these issues.
We almost never went outside. I was in the facility many times, and one time was in there for a few weeks. I specifically remember only going outside once during the entire hospitalization. There are big see-through doors. so I know it was not raining. I remember reading that unless the weather was bad we were meant to be able to go outside.
The doctor had me on a mood stabilizer which never helped and was kept on it for 11 months. I was also occasionally put on medications that were not supposed to be taken with this medication.
The adult part of the facility is very visible to the children.
I frequently witnessed staff members in the nurse's station mock my tics.
When being admitted, I was put in a room with adult patients.
We were threatened to be taken to "court" which would keep us in the facility for up to 180 days against our will. This was a lie used to make patients comply with the doctor. The so-called court "sentence" never lasted and after being told they couldn't go home, patients would find out the same day they were leaving.
There are so many more things I could talk about but I know there is no room for "fixing" the facility. Instead, it needs to be shut down. DO NOT GO HERE

Incompetent doesn't even begin to cover it. I -was- a new patient and I told them up front that I was at the end of my prescription and they said no worries. That they'd get an apt for me asap. So it was scheduled for Oct 6. Then, that day runs around: they tell me I have no appointment for that day. They also tell me that many people's appointments have gone missing. So, ok. One mistake is fine. I can make my meds stretch a little. So, they got me in for Oct 31 as the soonest. I told them that would be fine but I 100% need to get in that day. They said no worries and that they got me down for 1pm. Today, I went there, drove 40 minutes, just be to told that I YET AGAIN have no appointment. So now, I'm screwed in terms of medication -- which this should be illegal imo, but I don't make the laws. So now, I have to go through the entire process of finding another place to go to. Please, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Don't make the same mistake I did. I am specifically joining YP just to share this.

They do not deserve one star ,,A true disappointment,,They try and bend and twist your mental Health Issue.. To whatever staff they have .., I have a referral from my insurance for high intensity counseling ..They told me my issuance does cover counseling ....when i showed them the referral ..they were dumb founded ,,,They salt your wounds here ..and are no help ..very unprofessional to say the least

These people who respond on the telephone are the rudest most unprofessional human beings I have ever talked to. We need to see how are loved ones are and they play the dumb routine of we can not confirm without the patient consent Why? This is not the answer We are looking for. I have never been treated so poorly by a healthcare "professional" in my whole life. The nursing staff hate the patients and their jobs and it shows. Don't come here if you need help, I promise you will come away feeling worse.

We had a service plan for 6 months and it will be up March 2016 and they did nothing at all just handed us the service plan we will be reporting them to better business bureau for sure and medicaid Florida blue and other insurance companies

this place sucks,they don't tell you anything about your family members and won't let you even talk to them..if i ever need to go to a mental hospital it will not be this place

This place is a joke they do not care. They will just send you home whether you're better or not.
