Primary Care
You may return to your previous home diet as tolerated. Your throat may be sore from surgery and thick liquids or soups may be more comfortable for you to consume at first. If you are diabetic then you will want to watch your glucose levels closely the first week or so after surgery. Your primary care doctor may recommend a specific diet for your medical condition(s).

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
In general, wound dressings are left on for a minimum of two days after surgery. The bandage should be kept clean and dry. If it becomes soiled or wet then it may be replaced with a new sterile gauze bandage and secured in place with tape. After two days the bandage may be removed (except for carpal tunnel surgery in which the bandage must be kept in place and dry for two weeks).

The diagnosis of hydrocephalus usually includes a physical and neurological exam as well as imaging tests. The neurological exam checks eye movement and vision, hearing, sensation, reflexes, balance and coordination, motor skills, thinking and memory. Imaging tests such as MRI, CT scan, and ultrasound (for infants) can help to determine the severity and cause of the hydrocephalus.

The radiology studies that you had prior to surgery are critical to performing your operation. Please bring these studies with you the morning of surgery. If these studies are not available your surgery may be postponed.

Computed Tomography
Diagnostic tests. Spondylolisthesis is easily seen on a lateral (side) lumbar x-ray. If necessary, a CT scan or MRI may be ordered to see the spine’s tissues in greater detail.

He completed his Neurosurgical Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and moved to Lake Charles to practice Neurosurgery in 2000. He is a Board Certified member of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Wolf founded the Center for Neurosurgical and Spinal Disorders in 2002. Since then it has grown to become the leading Neurosurgical practice in Southwest Louisiana. He has a team of nurse practitioners that assist in patient care: Tara Barnes and Kasie Nix both provide conservative treatment in the office setting.
