Whitemarsh Valley Country Club is a country club and golf course located in Lafayette Hill, Pa. The original clubhouse, whose stone was dated 1769, served as headquarters to General Mad Anthony" Wayne during the Revolutionary War and the Battle of Germantown. Since the charter of the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club in 1908, the club has had its share of major tournaments, including the All-American Open in 1918. From 1963 to 1980 a new tournament on the pro tour called the Whitemarsh Open started with Arnold Palmer being the first winner. Jack Nicklaus won in 1964, 1965 and 1978. Tom Kite won his first major at Whitemarsh in 1976. In addition to golf, Whitemarsh also offers facilities and catering services for group events and weddings.
