Tranquility Nail & Spa

I’m from SC sand came and had a full gel nail set done with gel polish. Despite that I asked for acrylics the tech said gel was better. I accepted the up charge. I am now standing here with 3 out of 10 nails still on. When I called the salon they told me they don’t do refunds but may be able to fix them depending on how my nails look but if it wasn’t their fault they wouldn’t fix them. So least to say I don’t have time to get them done again because of the holiday and I leave Tuesday morning yet they want me to sit there for another 2 hours for a crappy manicure. What a waste of $75

I am 70 years old and go for pedicures since it's very difficult to bend myself into positions to reach my toes (after a hip and knee replacement). There's nothing wrong with 'vanity' but it's not the reason I go for pedicures. I go to have my feel and legs feel better and to be treated with a modicum of respect (as an 'elder') This does NOT happen at Tranquility . I did find the atmosphere pleasant and much cleaner than other places I've been to in Kingston, but my 'technician' - ( a young woman) was rude; insolsent; checking her 'device' and speaking in another language during my entire 'pedicure'. My polish rubbed off from one nail in one day (she put on many layers very quickly). and since I was passing through again a week later I went in to ask if they could fix it. I got the same person who again, has NO PEOPLE SKILLS! This is a service industry, and a SPA, and it's important to treat people with respect. This DID NOT HAPPEN! I'm never returning.

Amazing, alike most businesses they get busy and have to make priorities since they only have 3 full technicians. But they do the best they can and always try to make me and most other customers. The building it set up so uniquely, lots of Buddist decor and the most comfy couches. Over all my favorite spa/Nail salon in Kingston !

I was the first client to enter the building and i signed the board for a fill. 3 girls come After myself and say they need pedicures. There are 4 techs. A forth woman enters for a pedicure. ALL the techs including the one who does my type of fill bypass myself and another woman to do the pedicures.!!! The woman who knows how to do pink and whites should have taken myself and the other tech could have assisted the 3 while the forth pedicure waited since she was the 5th person to enter the building! This place does not deserve a single star but since you can not leave a comment without giving one I had to. This has happened to me before but will not happen again! You have lost my business!! One too many times for this nonsense. The place ran better when the husband owned it!!!

The worst pedicure I have ever had!! I only chose a one star rating because it required me to in order to write a review. I left the salon after having a pedicure to do some additional shopping and the more I walked the more my feet stung. I looked at the bottoms and she shaved my heels so much they were bleeding. When I went back to show them. They were closed. I took pictures with my IPhone and returned to speak with the owner. The person who gave me the pedicure denied doing it and the owner told me to go to the Dr. I demanded a refund after 20 minutes of arguing with her. She finally offered me a gift credit then I told her after the way I was treated I would NEVER step foot in her salon again. There are about 20 other nail salons in Kingston believe me I'll be doing my business with one of them!!!

I have been seeing my nail tech for a long time. She recently started working at this shop and so this is where I go now. It is so big, clean and relaxing. They have all kinds of services and I enjoy going there to be pampered, I get my nails done, eyebrows waxed and from time to time a pedicure. I suppose I am lucky to have found a technician that listens to me, takes her time and is excellent at what she does. I am a forever customer of hers. I like Tranquility Spa but truthfully I will just go where ever she is. Her name is Ha and she's great!

I don't understand why anyone likes this "spa." The facility is dirty. The seats are stained and the workspace is dirty. I had gel nails removed and the manicurist did not allow my nails to soak long enough therefore scraped the polish and part of my nails off. As if that was not bad enough, he then used the ELECTRIC DRILL to smooth them. I told him my nails were very thin and asked him not to use the drill to which he responded, "It's fine." All I was thinking at the time was "You are going to loose a customer because I'm not going to have any nails left to polish." Just when I thought he was done making my natural nail as thin as he possibly could - he sanded them with the course emery bock.



While "shaping" my nails the manicurist was not even looking at my hand but staring at the front of the store. As a result, my nails were crooked. The gel polish was applied to my nails as well as the skin around my nails! Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy!!!

Also, almost the entire time I was getting my nails done the man doing my nails was speaking to another worker who was clearly upset. I could not understand what they were saying but she was clearly livid. Instead of being professional and crating a calm welcoming environment I felt very uncomfortable with all the anger being displayed.



A different person waxed my eyebrows. I have a scar on one eyebrow. I tried to explain how I wanted my eyebrows waxed because of the scar. She cut me off each time I tried to speak saying, "I know. I know." Well she didn't know. They were shaped incorrectly.

Awful. I've given them several chances, and I'm disappointed every time. Sloppy, rushed, and careless. I'll never go back.

Let me preface this by saying I am not a picky person but if I am paying a significant amount of money to look nice, I would expect the end result would look actually nice! Tranquility is the WORST nail salon I have EVER been to. Avoid at all costs! I went in about two weeks ago for a French Tip manicure. Mind you this cost almost 50 dollars with tip. A week into wearing it SEVERAL nails were lifting so I went back and got a fill thinking I would give them a second chance to do a better job and fix the problem.. Not only do my nails look TERRIBLE, but the look worse than I started with. Now I have to have them removed and a new set put on because these look so god awful: There are red rings at the base of my nails where the fill was not properly done which looks extremely tacky and generally absurd. There are also LARGE bubbles in the acrylic!
