Floor it Today

We hired Floor it Today to install hardwood floors, kitchen countertop, and paint before we moved into our house. They skip steps, cut corners, and substitute cheaper materials and paint than what we paid for.

They didn't use any floating material the first time they installed the floors so they had to completely redo the entire thing. What was to take 4-6 weeks took 4 months and we had to live in a hotel for a month because our house was incomplete. We couldn't start unpacking because they needed access to all of the floors. While they were redoing the floors, they dented our dishwasher, scratched our refrigerator, and even chipped the countertop they had JUST installed. Their workers took candy from our kitchen and threw the wrappers in our yard.

They kept insisting that floating material didn't need to be used. The joints around the walls didn't line up exactly and they kept insisting their job was fine. They just kept adding joint filler between the floor boards and joints.

What bothered me the most was if I didn't check for hollow spots, they would have left everything without correcting it. It also REALLY bothered me that I chose Sherwin William paint colors and paint, but didn't find out until it was too late that they didn't use Sherwin Williams paint. They used a cheaper brand and It has already chipped. I am convinced that they did not paint the ceilings even though it was included in our quote. The painters did not prep the walls properly, but instead painted over dust and tape. We thought ALL painters knew they had to prep the walls!

The only good news was Ahmed tried his best to rectify the situation. They redid our entire floors and the worst sections of the paint (but not the entire paint job). He paid for our stay at the hotel and to have our animals boarded. He took 10% off the countertop slab, replaced the door to our dishwasher, but The refrigerator is still sporting a nasty scratch

I have a 21 yr old home that I wanted to add hardwood in the living room. This room sides up next to the foyer and dining room that already had hardwood. Akram was able to find an unfinished engineered floor in the same size and type of wood as my old hardwood. Not an easy task! The crews he uses did such an amazing job! The installation was efficient as possible, and they worked hard from the moment they arrived until the day was done. They are true craftsmen. The final product is stunning! You cannot easily tell which is the old wood and which is the new, they have blended so well. I am a very nervous client, as we've had lots of contractors over the years; and the Floor It Today guys gave me NO issues to worry over. The job was done exactly as discussed, for the price discussed with no surprises. Again, no easy feat! I will be using them again for our next flooring project.
