Medical Weight Loss
Pediatric Care
Make sure your child learns swim skills as early as possible. The American Red Cross suggests safe swim classes start at 6 months and America’s Academy of Pediatrics at 12 months, but ultimately the choice of when to enroll your child in a safe swim class is yours. Please remember there is probably a waiting list and so sign up early. Additionally, have a plan for emergencies and be able to recognize when someone is drowning and remember “reach or throw, and don’t go” and that it’s always wise to know CPR/First Aid.
Primary Care
Medicaid and ARKids First patients are expected to bring their current card on the date of service. If one of our physicians is not the Primary Care Physician (PCP), a referral is required from your PCP prior to service being provided. If Medicaid shows the coverage to be inactive for the date of service, the patient is responsible for payment of that day’s charges.
Emergency Care
From this point on we will send referrals for urgent care visits performed at times outside of regular clinic hours (M-F 8 am to 5 pm, and Sat 9 AM-Noon, but we are closed on major holidays). Please note, that urgent care is normally staffed by providers that have very minimal pediatric training. Emergency room visits do not require referrals if they are deemed a true emergency.
Electrocardiogram
We offer digital x-ray, laboratory, EKG, spirometry, and vaccinations. We do not participate in the VFC program and ask those patients to go to their local health unit for vaccinations. We will help in this process by scheduling vaccine appointments at the health units upon request.
Immunizations
We would like to encourage you to continue well-child visits for your children with an emphasis on visits where vaccinations would be administered and for those less than 5 years old. Learn More

Labor and Delivery
In preparation of the arrival of your baby, there are several resources in the area. St. Bernard’s Medical Center offers Childbirth Classes as well as a Breastfeeding Resource Center. They also have a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You will need to have a properly installed child safety seat for your automobile before leaving the hospital with your newborn. Arkansas State Police has prepared this helpful brochure on car seat safety.
