" The owner, Anthony Puma, used a sledgehammer to cause more damage to vehicles brought for repair to his shop on Austin Blvd. Puma would then hike his bill to the insurance companies and increase his profits. Nassau Cty. Dst. Atty used court authorized hidden cameras in Puma's Auto Body Shop to catch him in action after receiving several complaints from insurance companies. Puma was arrested. "We were able to prove that the business engaged in a practice of causing damage on vehicles," Using a sledgehammer the defendants called the 'money maker,' new damage was done.
" In one case, the owner of a van said Puma's shop gave him a $5,000 estimate But the damage had escalated to about $17,000 by the time adjusters inspected it. Vehicle owners knew nothing about the scam since the shop received the claims directly from the insurance companies Puma, plead guilty to insurance fraud. The four employes Eric Lessman; Paul Santoro; Marc Berland,and Paul Carr, pleaded guilty to defraud charge.

Not only did Puma's save my dream car, restoring it to perfection, but Anthony put this special coating on it which makes it look like glass. Before the accident { 3rd car in a 4 car collision} my black car would always look dirty. Since this coating my car looks great! When it rains my car gets washed clean. I no longer am a slave to the car wash. I have been a customer for many years and every job completed by this facility was done PERFECTLY!
