So close to being done with my Invisalign treatment and I am wowed by the results! I was told at other places that my teeth were so bad that I couldn't come close to correcting my smile with Invisalign and that 2-3 years in braces was the only option. When I found Mergen Orthodontics, they assured me that Invisalign was very possible. One year later, and I am so happy with the results so far as well as with the great staff.

My daughter has been evaluated by Dr. Mergen. I had a crown applied to a molar by my general dentist, and my bottom retainer wouldn't fit. Instead of getting a new retainer, my teeth began to move. I suffer from migraines, and my top retainer prevents me from clinching my teeth when I sleep. I've been migraine free for over 8 years!! So I was afraid to change anything, but because my teeth had started to move, my bite was changing and causing pain. Dr. Mergen made me feel confident and comfortable that invisalign would be my best option to correct my bite, while still preventing migraines. He was very understanding, when I voiced my concerns. 3 weeks into treatment, my tooth no longer feels pain while eating, and now 6 weeks, I'm still migraine free.
There are many people who suffer from migraines. It would be amazing if doctors would recommend an evaluation by orthodontics. A cure could be as simple as wearing a retainer. Migraines can be very debilitating, and medicine to help has its own side effects. Orthodontic care has changed my life in many different ways, but curing my blinding migraines has been a blessing.

Mergen Orthodontics has provided braces for all four of my children. The staff is always very friendly and happy, making our experience fun and exciting. I am thrilled to be the mom of four beautiful smiles!

The team at Mergen is amazingly fast... I sit in their comfortable waiting room and I can't ever even finish one magazine article before my daughter is in and out again and ready to go!

My daughter likes that her braces are less noticeable because they use the light colored brackets instead of metal.

Flexible scheduling, friendly staff, great environment and wonderful results! Dr. Mergen was straightforward with the treatment plan, expectations, and outcome.

We are always in and out of our appointment super fast! In fact, at my daughter's last appointment we arrived 10 minutes early, and we left 3 minutes after her appointment was supposed to start! Everyone at Mergen Orthodontics has been fabulous. My daughter had exceptional care. Everything was explained and any issues were dealt with promptly. Everyone is very friendly and caring. The staff and the service was excellent. By far some of the best customer service I have ever had. The girls are great and always willing to help and answer any questions I have. They are always excited to see me and have always made me feel welcomed! My Invisalign treatment went very well and I am very pleased with the results. Dr. Mergen is great!

Mergen provides such caring service. My 14-year old had just gotten rubber bands for the first time and he wasn't getting them on without tons of trouble. We called on a Sunday night hoping they would work us in Monday morning. When we stopped in at 8, they already had us checked in, knew who Miles was, and were so resssuring that it was absolutely no problem. One of the assistants worked with our son for at least 15 minutes until he could put the bands on himself. Since then, it's been easy! I really appreciated their friendliness, and ease of getting in. It's nice to not feel like a bother when we have a need. Love this place!

Both of my daughters are patients of Dr. Mergen. One is in Invisalign and one in braces. It has been a good experience for us all. From the 2nd kid discount, to the extremely friendly staff, to the beautiful office with classy beach decor, to the efficient and timely appointments, and to Dr. Mergens own patient smile, it's been a great experience. If my son wanted his gap fixed, back we would go. Lucky for me he is happy with the extra space!

We have had a great experience with Mergen Orthodontics! I am almost finished with the Invisalign and could not be happier with the results! My daughter has regular braces and gets them off today and is extremely happy with her results! The staff is incredible. They are very professional and it's always a friendly atmosphere. I would like to tell you how wonderful my experience with Mergen Orthodontics was. I have two beautiful daughters who had their teeth straightened by Dr. Mergen. Their smiles are stunning. The staff was very understanding a few times when things did not go as planned. The service by Jamie was outstanding. The location is perfect for the east side of Iowa City, the phone call reminders valuable and the speed of appointments helpful. The payment plan, which we worked out clearly before the treatment started was fair and painless. I strongly recommend Mergen Orthodontics!

After 40+ years of needing braces; I decided now was the time. After paying for braces for my three children I decided that making that payment a few more months was finally doable. I loved seeing their beautiful teeth and smiles and didn't want to have to continue to be self-conscious when I smiled; especially because I work in a professional environment and it always bothered me that my teeth were not straight. Unfortunately, I was a thumb sucker as a young child and grew up in a single parent household, so money for braces was not an option. The staff at Mergen have been so friendly and welcoming and encouraging; it has made the process very bearable! I'm excited to see the end result and gain the pleasure of being able to smile without being self conscious about my teeth.

Deciding to get braces in you 30’s is a scary thought! I was very hesitant, yet wanted to fix my smile, due to the neglect the first time around in my teenage years. After calling your office and coming in for my consult, I was immediately sure it was the right choice. You made me feel at ease with the uncertainty and assured me that many people are now choosing this option in adulthood.
