Emergency CareApply firm pressure continually for 10 minutes if bleeding occurs and if bleeding does not cease call the office or go to the nearest emergency room.
GlaucomaSome patients have experienced temporary itching or slight redness after application however generally resolves when the body becomes accustomed to the product. Rarely, there can be pigment changes of the colored part of the eye. This is rare and is only an issue in people with lighter colored eyes. Also, anyone who is being treated for other eye diseases such as glaucoma should consult with their eye physician prior to using this product.
Mohs SurgeryMohs micrographic surgery has the highest cure rate for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Mohs surgery differs from other skin cancer treatments in that it permits the immediate and complete microscopic examination of removed cancerous tissue to give assurance that the “roots” of the carcinoma has been eliminated. Mohs surgery is reserved for skin cancers that grow back from previously treated cancers, cancers that are at high risk of reoccurrence, cancers that are located in cosmetic areas where preservation of skin is important (such as the face), and for large skin cancers. This procedure tends to minimize scaring over other therapies with the goal of achieving an optimal cosmetic result with high cure rates.
Cosmetic DermatologyDr. Huddleston is a board certified dermatologist providing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services for both adults and children.
Skin CancerTo offer the most advance care, our practice has a board certified Mohs’ micrographic surgeon dedicated to the treatment of skin cancer. Chemical PeelsChemical Peels provide significant benefits by helping smooth rough, dry skin, improve the texture of sun damaged skin, superficial acne scars, minimizing fine lines and softening deep wrinkles. Chemical peels are intended not just for cosmetic but for therapeutic purposes such as melasma (dark pigmentation on the face during pregnancy) and precancerous conditions such as keratoses. A series of peels is usually required to obtain the best results performed at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks. The strength of the initial peel is often milder and gradually increases with subsequent chemical peel treatments. For the first few days you will notice redness followed by scaling and flaking. Sun avoidance is a must during the peeling process and sunscreen with an SPF 30 should be worn one to two weeks following the peel.
Skin CareCombines medical excellence, science and advanced technology to provide comprehensive medical, surgical and cosmetic skin care to both adults and children.
MicrodermabrasionMicrodermabrasion is considered skin polishing where the superficial layer of skin is gently abraded away giving an overall fresh healthy glow. Microdermabrasion is useful in treating dull skin and leathery skin, reduce mild acne scaring, smooth fine wrinkles, even skin tone and exfoliate plugged pores. Microdermabrasion stimulates the production of skin cells and collagen which gives the skin its youthful appearance. The results may be subtle, but it is a good alternative for people with skin that is sensitive to chemical peels.
PsoriasisThe XTRAC® Laser concentrates a light on the active psoriasis skin plaques with high-exposure doses necessary for rapid clearing without risk of damage to healthy skin. Initially, the skin may be tested to determine the optimal dosage level and then a hand-piece is moved over the affected area, applying laser light. The treatment sessions last 5-15 minutes depending on the amount of skin involved. You may experience feelings of warmth, but most patients do not experience discomfort during the procedure.
