Dental ImplantsDental implants are the modern alternative for permanent tooth replacement. Using implants, your dentist can actually create replacement teeth which look and function just like your natural teeth. They are an incredible solution for anyone who needs to replace one tooth, several teeth, or even all their teeth!
BridgesIf you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges can help restore your smile. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally “bridges” the gap where one or more teeth used to be. Bridges can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and are attached to surrounding teeth for support. Unlike a removable bridge, which you can take out and clean, a fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist.
Restorative DentistryAt Legacy Dental we are dedicated to providing our patients with the most thorough and advanced dental treatment available. In addition to preventative dentistry examinations and cleanings, Dr. Thuernagle and the team at Legacy Dental offer a wide array of cosmetic and restorative dentistry solutions. From smile makeover treatments such as porcelain veneers and teeth whitening, to smile restoration treatments such as root canals, dental crowns, implants, bridges and even dentures, our patients have the full range of dentistry treatments at their disposal.
Resin CompositeIf you are embarrassed about your smile because of decay or dark fillings, you might be the perfect candidate for composite resin tooth colored fillings to take the place of the old silver amalgams. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, composite fillings require less tooth structure to be removed. We believe in conservative dentistry—the more natural tooth structure you keep, the better teeth you have in the future.
VeneersA veneer is a thin layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of the tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage.
CrownsRepair the exterior of the tooth and make it look like your own tooth again. Because we do Cerec crowns, there is no

DenturesDentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. Technology has much improved the way dentures look and feel. There are different types of dentures including full and partial dentures and dentures made the same day as your appointment at our office. To learn about the different options that are offered for dentures call our office and we will reserve a time for you to discuss all your questions with Dr. Thuernagle.
Tooth WhiteningWe want everyone to love their smile so to help our patients achieve this goal we offer teeth whitening. We can whiten your smile with an in office procedure or make custom fit trays for you to take home and use at your own convenience.
Dental SealantsA Sealant is a hardened plastic material applied to the vulnerable grooves and pits on the chewing surface of the back teeth (premolars and molars). The sealant acts as a barrier to food debris, plaque and bacteria protecting these cavity prone areas of the teeth. Avoidance of sticky or hard foods, which can “pull” at or “break” the sealants will help them last longer.
Oral Cancer Screening
Dental ExaminationGreat oral health begins with regular dental examinations and cleanings. The American Dental Association recommends a dental check-up at least twice a year for most children and adults. Sometimes your dentist may feel it appropriate to be seen more often depending on your oral health. During these appointments patients receive a thorough examination of their teeth, gums, tongue, jaw, and neck. If necessary, Dr. Thuernagle may recommend X-rays, an oral cancer screening, or a periodontal (gum) inspection. After the comprehensive examination, one of our professional and knowledgeable dental hygienists will perform a thorough cleaning and polishing.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Tooth ExtractionsAn extraction means to have a tooth removed, usually because of disease, trauma or crowding. Typically most everyone will need their wisdom teeth removed. The easiest time to extract these teeth is in your teenage years before roots have fully developed. Dr. Thuernagle always takes a 3D scan of every patient before the procedure so he knows exactly where and how the teeth are positioned.
Bone GraftingSometimes there is not enough bone available to support a traditional dental implant. In this case, your dentist can use a technique called bone grafting to build up the bone in your jaw. After this graft has been given time to heal, the regular implant treatment can proceed.
