I hired these guys to do my move, they estimated me at 1100$, and upon coming to my property they raised the price to 2800$ which unbelievable ! I also found out that they are a broker, so please steer clear from this company.

Fast and reliable company

Outstanding moving service - The best in Texas. We just used them to move my brother-in-law and everyone was thrilled with the professional service houston movers r us provided. Very competitive for prices too, We'll definitely be using them on our next move and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks, Jake.

Overall
good workers

I recently used houston movers r us to move from a duplex to an apartment. I have nothing but positive comments to make about these folks. The guys that showed up were professional, on time, and very fast. I moved out of my house and in to my apartment in 2 hours. They even helped me reassemble my bed frame. They carefully wrapped my furniture in plastic and used blankets to cushion my goods in the truck.

I highly recommend these guys.

cheap and efficient

Cheap, on time, and efficient. We moved from an apartment to a house in-town. $300 for the whole thing. We would happily use these guys again for a moving experience.

Job well done

These guys were great. Not only were the prices very reasonable (my main concern), but they were also on time, and very fast at what they do. Fast but not clumsy, they took their time wrapping furniture in plastic, loading boxes, etc... and were able to empty my old house in 30 minutes. I wasn't sure what to expect with the price I was quoted but I would happily use them again next time I move - hopefully not anytime soon though!

Day before hell move... I never received a call so, I called.. and called.. and called. Being a planner knowing when they would arrive is something I cared about. David called me at 7:45 and said they would arrive by noon. It's hot as hell here in Texas so I requested they come at 8 so it would be better on the crew. HE agreed

Move day...They came at 11:30 and from the start told me that my move was going to be tight for the BUDGET truck they were in. Ben started the paper work telling me the moving of my items to Nashville would not be complete on the 29th unless I paid 1k more so I could get a firm delivery date. "should" (this word is used over and over and over) be on target. Ben told me several times that I needed to cover myself and make sure everything is correct so I don't get scammed. Nothing gets on the truck without a sticker, if it looks like were getting close to going over my price he will stop and we can make a plan. They started loading around 1:20pm. the pace was fast so fast that they put many items on the truck with out the "sticker" used to track my items on the other side. Thankfully I noticed the items (12 in total) so Ben could resolve it. As the first few waves made it on the truck it was clear that they we not "filling" the truck. They way that the loading was going it appeared that I have more than I did due to the loading style being used. When I pointed it out Ben informed the two crewmembers to pack it correct. Two hours later Ben stopped interacting with me and started avoiding me. The whole time he said we were fine because my move was based on weight.

The trouble starts.... . He started looking for the paper work.. he could not find it in my home so he said I had to have taken it. Ben looked all over and became angry with me.

At 3:25 Ben informs me we have a "problem" and he is so upset that he has to tell me I'm way over My furniture is heavier than "normal" and I have extra weight due to boxes. He can do the best he can on this for me because I'm nice... I have two options. A. I can take the "binding" price he will offer me and it will "lock" me in or B. we can drive to his scale and he will weigh the truck. IF I pick this option (the one that was sold to me) and its more than he thinks it will be then I will have to pay that amount based on the truck weight. I HAVE to pick now and if it is more then I can't go back to the "binding" price. I have to pick now because he's giving me a huge deal and will get in trouble for giving me such a great deal.

He really shouldn't offer this to me...and I'm very lucky. I went out side to call my Husband and tell him that the price was increases by 1500 and the truck is loaded.

While I was outside Ben started picking up the paperwork (I did not sign it all). I was on the phone and opened my back door. Ben said "I HAVE to go". I informed him he could wait. (My Dad came over with a gun and the cops)

As Ben was telling me how great he is and how kind he is in my kitchen I googled the moving company on his shirt "Houston movers r us" they have the WORST reviews and now they have my house on the truck... HOLY COW.

I sat on my stairs trying to figure out what to do. With my head in my hands Ben walked up yelling that he can't wait on me. He's been patient and I'm pissing him off. He's going to take my stuff off the truck and I owe 1500k in cash now. He does not work for free. What do I want.. "WHAT DO I WANT" The cops came.. my items left on the truck... Four weeks later i received my items destroyed most stolen and had to unload my truck because they sold my job to a trucking company. HMRS is not able to move across Texas lines.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY. I filed a claim and my 5k claim is being "settled" By HMRS with the offer of 150. TOTAL SCAM - All positive reviews are an inside job.

Every last detail of the move itself was handled to perfection. Not a scratch, nor a dent, nothing missing or mishandled. All this on a day you could fry eggs on the sidewalk. The men were courteous and went out of their way to be sure things went well.Houston Movers R US

These movers are absolute scam...

These movers are absolute scammers. I could not hire the same movers I had hired for two other moves so I hired these guys because they were supposedly cheaper than others. They quoted me a little under $1000 for an interstate move from Houston to Maryland. When they arrived, they charged me an extra $300 to load my items in the truck, claiming that it was more than originally anticipated although I had called the company ahead of time to let me know of the extra boxes. The rep, Jason, claimed it would not change the original quote. Then when arrived in Maryland, they were 3 hours late and did not call. I had to call them TWICE to see if they were coming. The delivery lead person was rude even at the suggestion that they were late. They insisted that I pay in CASH although the original contract indicated check, cash, or charge (for a fee). He claimed he couldn't get the 18-wheeler into the apartment complex and refused to work with the manager to bring the truck in through the back way. He wanted to charge $700 for the smaller truck and extra days of storage. When I brought up the fact that they were late, he became angry and threaten to charge me for having him wait. I called the police to arbitrate (to no avail) which made the delivery guy even angrier and told me that he was charging me for wasting his time. I had them unpack my belongings on the grass and had to move the items in myself while they were trying to convince me to have them move it for an extra charge. The company is a SCAM, and I am surprised they are still in business. The five stars ratings had to be from employees or family members because I had never had such a scamming experience from movers before, and I had move four times interstate already. Believe me STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I had to report them to BBB.

BEWARE!!! My “quote” was $...

BEWARE!!! My “quote” was $450 to move items of a 3 bedroom house from a storage unit to a new home. It cost me double b/c the crew took their time so that their hours accumulated. A job that previously took 4 hours by another company took these guys almost 8 (the other company was booked so I used these scammers who screwed me). These guys know the longer they take the more they can make. The quote sheet they emailed me clearly states it includes “reassembling” – nope, the crew tried to charge me $100 for each item to assemble. The quote states free use of moving pads – nope, I was charged for using their materials. Once the truck was loaded and on the way to the new destination, the crew said they wanted to stop for lunch, which I bought. Then when we got to the new destination, they wouldn’t unload the truck until I paid the updated quote in cash – I had to pay double upfront before they unloaded. BLACKMAIL! I am reporting them to BBB so be careful. The cherry on top is the lead guy had the nerve to ask me for a tip for his crew. I slammed the door in his face. I left a message with the company and have never heard back.
