          A local favorite of mine

          Easy short drive from Waikiki up Kapahulu Ave. Has all the local favorites done well. Local chinese food is typically Cantonese, uses fresh vegetables not over cooked, has a variety of sauces and flavors, is eaten family style and is priced resonably. Try the House special chowmien (fried noodles), Ginger Chicken (local style, cold, boiled with a ginger and onion sauce), beef broccoli, KauYuk (fatty roasted pork with buns) and roast duck. The shrimp with a golden mayo sauce is also very good. For lunch the typical Won Ton Min (won ton and noodle soup) or start your meal with Wor Won Ton soup (won ton soup with vegtables and meat). This is what the locals eat.
