At Athena Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii, several different liposuction techniques can be used, depending on the particular situation. I cannot recommend Dr. Robert Peterson, and his excellent staff, more highly. After 2 c-sections and a hysterectomy, I am no stranger to abdominal surgeries. Yet my experience with Dr. Peterson and team was absolutely “best seen to date”. From the very first meeting, the professionalism and genuine care about my needs was prevalent. They listened to my concerns, asked pertinent questions, and Dr. Peterson was very candid about which procedures would best answer my needs. I needed to rebuild core abdominal muscle strength to alleviate lower back deterioration. He knew exactly what to do! I went into surgery calm, clear about the procedure, and what to expect during recovery. Follow-up visits were equally concise and continued to reflect the team’s authentic compassion and concern for me about us co-achieving the best possible results.

Brow Lift
If you feel that the signs of aging on your forehead and upper face make you look sad, tired, angry, or older than your age, you are likely a good candidate for a brow lift. Ideally, you should not smoke or take any medications that may increase risks and complications, such as anti-inflammatory medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen), which can increase your risk for bleeding. Smoking greatly affects healing. Candidates should also be in good overall health and have realistic expectations about their results.
Eyelid Surgery
Unlike upper eyelid surgery in aging eyes, where the primary goal is to remove the excess skin, in the OB the purpose is to create a fold so that the skin lays down smoothly between the eyelashes and the crease when the eye is opened. There are several ways of accomplishing this goal, but all of them involve attaching the skin to the muscles that lift the eyelid so that the skin is pulled up when the eye is opened.
Liposuction
As we age, our facial tissue tends to deteriorate, resulting in the descent and thinning of the face. Fat grafting is a procedure utilizing the body’s own tissue, eliminating the chances of rejection, to reintroduce fat to specific areas. When combined with a liposuction procedure, fat that has been removed can be reused to define other areas of the face and body. It may take more than one procedure to get the best result.

Dr. Murariu is the most compassionate doctor I’ve ever had. He has taking such great care of me over the past several years! After my mastectomy, he performed breast reconstruction and gave me feeling in my breast by transferring nerve graphs. Having lymphedema in my arm, he moved lymph nodes and did lymphedema bypass to help with the swelling. He also did reduction on my other breast for symmetry. Dr Murariu helped me to gain back my confidence as a woman. And for that I will always be grateful. I would highly recommend Dr. Murariu for any plastic surgery. He is the best!
Plastic Surgery
Dr. Murariu is the BEST! He has a great bed-side manner and a sense of humor which I appreciate. He thoroughly explained the procedures he did on me (mastectomy and re-construction) as well as what to expect during recovery. He is extremely detail oriented and that’s exactly what I want in a plastic surgeon. Face Lift
Facial Fat Grafting has been in existence for many years, and is effective for filling in deep facial lines, nasolabial folds, and sunken eyes. Dr. Robert Peterson and Dr. Daniel Murariu perform fat grafting on many of his facelift patients to address both major causes of facial aging: sagging (gravity) and deflation (picture a deflated balloon). Abdominoplasty
At Athena Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii, patients considering abdominoplasty can choose either a complete or partial procedure.
