NeurologyDr. Douglas R. Jeffery of Advance Neurology and Pain (Advance, NC), has co-authored an article for The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
Pediatric CareDr. Chapman was awarded her undergraduate degree from Linfield College, in McMinnville, Oregon, where she graduated Cum Laude with honors. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her internship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Indiana University School of Medicine/Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Chapman has published articles in scientific journals and presented research at numerous conferences on the topics of cognitive challenges associated with complex medical issues, such as traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, genetic disorders, and epilepsy. Dr. Chapman joins the other psychologists who care for patients from this location, including M. Paige Powell, PhD, Larry D. Young, PhD, Michael V. Kirch, PhD, W. Thomas Thompson, EdD, Michelle L. Lawson, MA and Sascha Pope, MS. Jennifer L. Gagne, PhD, and Catherine Cheek, MA, care for patients at Cornerstone Pediatrics at Premier. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and was awarded a Masters of Medical Sciences degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. She is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Before joining Cornerstone she served as Physician Assistant with Wake Forest Baptist Health in Hematology and Oncology.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)High Point, NC - Cornerstone Health Care welcomes Leah Chapman, PhD, to Cornerstone Behavioral Medicine where she provides neuropsychological assessment for children, adolescents, and college students from their office at 1208 Eastchester Drive, Suite 200 in High Point. The conditions evaluated include neurological disorders, ADHD, learning and development delays, traumatic brain injury, cancer or brain tumor, and other complex medical conditions.
Cosmetic SurgeryEligibility for financial assistance is determined by the patient's or his/her guarantor's ability to pay, after all insurance and available resources have been utilized. The program covers payment for medically necessary care, but does not cover routine co-pays and deductibles for patients having medical coverage unless a hardship can be documented. The program also excludes services deemed not medically necessary, such as cosmetic surgery, fertility services, medications, Radiopharmaceutical's, optical or orthotics.
Sports MedicineFoundation programs for youth include Middle School Field Trips, Camp Cornerstone and an Annual Sports Medicine Seminar.
