Dr. Carrie Wilgus is a board certified pediatrician who received her medical degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She completed her three-year residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Carrie Wilgus has been serving the Barry County community for the past 13 years. Formally an owner and partner with Hastings Pediatrics, Dr. Wilgus has now opened her own practice, located on the southeast side of Hastings. Dr. Wilgus is a strong supporter and board member of the Barry County United Way. Dr. Wilgus also serves as a board member on the Green Gables Safe Haven for Women and Children in Hastings. Dr. Wilgus and her husband Don, reside in Hastings with their four children. Emily Sydloski has been serving the Hastings community as a physician assistant since 2013. She grew up in Middleville, graduated from Thornapple Kellogg Schools and then attended Grand Valley State University. She received her Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2010 and a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2012. Emily worked in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care at Spectrum Health Pennock Hospital for 4 years before joining the Southside Pediatrics team in 2017. Emily and her husband Mitch reside in the Middleville area with their daughter. Abby St. Jacques is a pediatrician who is originally from Grand Rapids and loves the West Michigan area. She finished high school in Thailand and completed her undergraduate at Houghton College in New York. She returned to Michigan and obtained her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2011 and then completed her three-year residency in pediatrics at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids in 2014. DeVos Children’s Hospital was a wonderful place to train but she is looking forward to practicing now in a smaller town while also continuing to work in both the office and the hospital settings. She understands the value of a traditional, community pediatrician in smaller towns like Hastings. She has particular interests in international children’s health, family education, and behavioral pediatrics. Her two main projects in pediatric residency were a quality improvement project to improve ADHD care in the office, and developing a curriculum to train residents to work in global and underserved settings. She has traveled internationally on medical trips to Zambia, Honduras, and Haiti and also had the opportunity to work in an inner-city clinic in Grand Rapids. Dr. St. Jacques and her husband, Matt, have recently relocated to Hastings. They are looking forward to the opportunity to become more involved in the Hastings community.
