        Overall

        This is the last place you want to take your car. I took my car in because one of my tires blew out one day and I needed it repaired asap. This turned into them telling me I had other things wrong with my car and it needing other work done and after them so called fixing all the issues my car died on me twice while driving it. Pretty scary when that happens. Come to find out they put in bad parts.

        Go elsewhere...terrible service!

        Go elsewhere...terrible service! After bringing in our car for a standard and minor repair in a power steering hose, the next day our car was gushing power steering fluid. PepBoys wasted our time and money in trying to fix the issue, especially after telling they would pay for a car rental and then denying to do so. We even came in one morning at 7:45am and were told by the manager to wait until 8am when they opened; this consisted of us standing infront of him for 10 minutes while he checked his email and smirked. PepBoys refused to listen to our situation. After researching the leak, the part it was leaking from (rack) rarely breaks in Honda Accords (2000) unless from: (1) air remained in the hose before connecting; (2) car accident or (3) Honda steering fluid was not used.



        When Bert the manager was asked if Honda fluid was used, we were told that "they were looking into it". Enough said.



        Overall, the situation was handled very poorly and the lack of management displayed by Bert at Hamden PepBoys was appalling. Moreover, the lack of respect for their customers is sad.



        Pay the extra money and go to the dealer, or find a well-trusted local mechanic.
