Overall

My favorites are still the fish and chips and clam chowder! So crispy and light! Definitely skip the lines by ordering your food at the to-go counter and sit on the rocks overlooking the beach. Best view in the house!

Barbara's Fish Trap (BFT) has ...

Barbara's Fish Trap (BFT) has the best foods ever. YOU have to try their 'crab sandwiches' and 'clam chowder' . . . delicious. Everything on their menu is excellent.

Through the years, Sunset Magazine and several newspapers have given BFT great reviews. We drive from Fremont to Half Moon Bay to eat there, that's how much we enjoy their foods and the area. ENJOY . . . . Bill and Loretta

There is a beach below where kids can run and play while parents can watch and relax. Seafood pastas, salads, big pots of mussels or clams, sandwiches, ceviche and half-shell oysters receive rave reviews. Many customers will share entrees. Crab season brings Cioppino, a combination of crab, clams, mussel, prawns and fish. Everything is made fresh when the customer orders. We also have broiled and sauteed specialties. Like something different? We will try to make it happen. Check out our beer special for the day for $2.25. For Mailing Inquiries: P.O. Box 1075 El Granada, CA 94018 History Established in 1971 The Fishtrap Restaurant evolved from 10 years of catering parties, weddings, Farm Bureau dinners plus Sunday buffets at the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society. The business moved into the building now housing Flavor Restaurant. In 1971, a complete kitchen was installed and that began a seafood and Mexican take-out with a sit-down dining room upstairs. Barbara leased Hazel's Restaurant in 1978, changing the name to Paul and Barbara's Fishtrap. It was an immediate hit! Paul was the local harbor master and after he died, it was renamed Barbara's Fishtrap. Barbara is grateful to her customers for her on ongoing success that helped her purchase the almost 100-year-old building that Barbara's Fishtrap calls home. The Fishtrap success is attributed to our fresh fish, calamari, all our seafood and our genuine desire to ensure that our customers are satisfied and happy. We sincerely and diligently strive to make each customer feel at home with family and friends. Meet the Business Owner: Barbara W. Barbara Walsh is an entrepreneur with a vision for good food and good service. She worked hard to create a seafood restaurant that is part of the good family feel of the San Mateo County coast. Patrons from all over the world know Barbara's Fishtrap as the "toast of the coast." Our philosophy at Barbara's Fishtrap is simple. We serve food and beverages at an honest price to bring the best value to our guests. The finest food and service is the trademark and goal of Barbara's Fishtrap. The cooks and food servers have 10 to 25 years of Fishtrap experience. They enjoy serving you. Our customers are both local residents and tourists who come back to us time and time again because they know our food is exceptional, our portions are hearty, our restaurant is clean and our service is outstanding.
