Overall

I have been going to Laska Dental for years. Dr. Laska's work is second to none. He is a kind clinician, very concerned with the care of his patients and their dental health. He always makes me feel at ease, even when I am having a major dental procedure. The work he does is simply amazing. I have had several crowns, root canals, as well as cosmetic procedures. The work is just beautiful! Highly recommend!!

Overall

I have been going to Dr. Laska since I was young and followed him to his current office. My family loves it there and I have recommended him to numerous friends and they are all very pleased with the office, doctors and staff, and anything they had done.

Overall

I had been a patient at Laska Dental for many years. I recently made an appointment for a teeth cleaning. After I was taken into the dental area, I was told that they wanted to do a Panoramic X-ray. I had stated that I didn't want the X-ray, that I wasn't having any dental problems and had the bite wing X-rays on the previous visit, so I just wanted my teeth cleaned. They informed me that they had a new policy that stated that they required the X-ray every 5 years and were refusing to clean my teeth unless I had the X-ray done.

Now, I would like to add that I have no problem with periodic X-rays as a preventative measure, BUT my issues with this are: 1) I feel that it should be up to the customer if they WANT to do the X-rays 2)I feel that they should have either sent a mailing out to their customers, or at least mentioned the policy change when I called to make the appointment. This X-ray is rather costly and I pay my dental care completely out of my pocket. I wasn't expecting this extra service and the charges that it would incur.

After being refused the teeth cleaning, the hygienist said that I had never had a cavity taken care from my visit 2 years prior and pulled out my chart showing me the notation regarding the cavity. I told her that I had had two cleanings since then (1 at Laska and 1 at another dentist - out of town) and I had asked about a cavity and was told that I had none. I told her that I had inquired about sealants (at my last cleaning) and Dr. Laska had stated that if I wasn't having any sensitivity, that it wasn't necessary to do the sealants. The hygienist then changed her tune and said "Yeah, that's what i meant - sealants - and you never had those done".

Hmmmm.... An X-ray that runs approx $200 when there are no problems, a cavity that mysteriously disappeared, and then sealants that aren't necessary that cost approx $175 each and "needing many" sure adds up to a large dental bill.

Nice way to turn a $150 teeth cleaning into a bill over $1000. I believe it's time for a new dentist!!!
