We will be seeing all obstetrical, post-operative, and postpartum patients, and GYN emergencies only. We will maintain staff and physicians in the office to answer the phones for questions and consultations for any emergent needs. Our goal is to avoid overwhelming local emergency departments and urgent care facilities with obstetrical and gynecological concerns that can be addressed by our office staff.

Dr. Clasen graduated from and completed her residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors at LSU in Baton Rouge. Dr. Clasen has been serving the West Bank for 18 years and is honored to provide women's health care in her community. She has a special interest in adolescent gynecology and fertility.
Obstetrics
Dr. Mahlum graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine, and completed her residency at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. While getting her medical degree, she also earned a Master's in Public Health at Tulane. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors at University of Minnesota. She is fluent in Spanish and is committed to providing excellent, equitable care. She has a special interest in family planning, high risk obstetrics and minimally invasive surgery.

Ultrasound
We offer in office ultrasound, breast imaging, and DEXA scans. We are proud to be the only physician office in our area that offers all of these services under one roof.
Mammography
Experience a more accurate mammogram with our brand new 3D mammography service. Three-dimensional mammography is at the forefront of breast cancer detection, with detailed results that drastically reduce the number of false positive diagnoses.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Dr. Gillen graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Florida. He taught minimally invasive surgery for over 15 years and loves the challenges of obstetrical medicine. He is deeply rooted in the New Orleans area.
Robotic Surgery
Dr. Allen graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Ochsner Health Systems. He attended Loyola University as an undergraduate. He completed military service with the Navy and currently serves with the Louisiana Air National Guard. Also serving as the Chief of OB/GYN at West Jefferson Medical Center, Dr. Allen has a special interest in robotic surgery.
Hysterectomy
You may have some light bleeding or discharge for a few weeks. Avoid any lifting or inserting anything into the vagina until your doctor tells you otherwise, or at least 6 weeks. You may bathe or shower normally as soon as you feel able and drive when you are not taking narcotic pain medication and can bend and straighten your body. If you have incisions in your abdomen, keep them clean and dry. They do not need to be covered. If there are tape strips, leave them on. Other bandages can be removed 24-48 hours after surgery. Call if you have fever, ongoing nausea and vomiting, bleeding like a period, or your if pain is not improving.
Endometrial Ablation
We offer a full evaluation including in-house ultrasound and tests confirmed by an in-house laboratory. After discussing all your options, we can suggest medical and surgical treatment including minimally invasive surgery, endometrial ablation and medical treatments (hormonal and non- hormonal).
Laparoscopy
Expect some gas pains in your abdomen or possibly your shoulder for a few days. Walking, changing positions and avoiding or treating constipation may help. You may bathe or shower normally and return to normal activities as soon as you feel ready, generally in 1-2 weeks. If you have Band-Aids or dressings, remove them in 24-48 hours. If there are strips of tape, leave them on until you come to the office. Call if you have fever, ongoing nausea and vomiting, or if your pain is not improving.
