This Hilton property does not live up to the Hilton name! Outdated would be an understatement! This hotel has the same furniture and carpet from my college days back in 2000!! To make things worse they built a newer property across the street Hampton Inn Suites as well as nearby Hilton Garden Inn a few years ago after this hotel and are now renovating the newer hotel ?? The room are drab and dark. Bed comfortable though. at least update furniture and carpet!

And the Hilton Honors free breakfast makes you feel less than honored - they should just offer free coffee. It's the worst continental breakfast I have ever seen!! The waitress was very nice - not her fault. It was a waist of 20 minutes.

The night staff less than cared about working. I called down for something no one ever answered!!! I had to get out of bed and go downstairs to get my item and they were just standing talking at front desk!! Then when I arrived... the main reason I stay here the COOKIES they said the kitchen was making them and they would bring them up-- never happened and 2 hours later when I went downstairs to get my item they still didn't have any and promised to bring them up -- never happened!! I was so disappointed

The morning staff Kristin was very apologetic and gave me cookies this am but I unfortunately they just started working and the cookies were from last night and not fresh and she was ordering more but I had to check out at 6:30.

I won't be staying here until they update, renovate, upgrade their service and live up to the Hilton name. Gate City should be ashamed as well to be a restaurant.
