Just a terrible experience. I gave them a try because I was desperate and thought they may have improved since these reviews are old. Everything is still true, it's an "anything goes" atmosphere, we received lots of incident reports of biting, hitting, kicking, scratching (initiated by my child or another) but not much explanation as to how it happened, or WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR WATCHING THEM...? When I asked if my child was the problem they said no and pointed out some children who went home with multiple incident reports every single day.... Yet nothing is done to solve the problem. The front desk seem nice, but are clearly stressed and overworked, which can lead to some unprofessionalism. I could understand that and was able to ignore it. What I could not understand was the director, Miss Patti's, "no time for anything" attitude and completely disrespectful tone of voice, everyday. This facility is also FULL of viruses/germs. My son underwent at least 3 rounds of antibiotics in the few months he was there. He never did recover until being withdrawn from school, the doctor just refused to write more scripts for antibiotics, so he had to suffer through the illness. (As I'm sure the rest of his classmates were suffering through the same illness, unmedicated) There was one teacher we really liked who was only there in the mornings. I can say nothing good of any of the others. They looked spaced out, not caring nor nurturing.... At least my son was 3, able to talk, and stand up for himself. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but especially if you have a child under 2.

Racism - NO WAY

I think you need to get all your facts before you start pointing your fingers at people and maybe look at yourself. I have sent two children through Tutor Time, one of the 13 years ago and one just graduated. Just because the director is Caucasian does not mean she is prejudges. The owner is not Caucasian, and does not only hire Caucasians. Over the years I have see workers of all Ethnic groups, Sizes, Shapes and Colors. My kids have left Tutor Time very well adjusted to the different races. They teach basic Spanish, and if any of the children speak more than one language they use that to help the other kids try and pick up on some of the basic words. Everything is labeled in English and Spanish, oh wait maybe they should post everything in Ebonics also.

racism??/

This tern is so overly used now that no one believes when a person yells "its because in aferican american", its rediculous... maybe it had nothing to do with race but your attitude...look at yourself first and see how you talk to people before using the race card...

I just could not bear the thought of horrifying experiences at this daycare. Staff is not fit to do anything with kids.

Do not enroll your child here

Being a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at the yorba linda tutor time on los angeles street, i could state a few of the problems the "learning center" has.

1. teachers are treated badly from the owner (if teachers are happy, then the children are happy, and so on)

2. Always understaffed. (there was one time when i was with 19 children on splash day all by myself and numerous occasions when i was over the legal ratio 12:1.

3. the owner is cheap (she wouldn't get supplies, wouldn't let anyone use the copier)

4. the kids eat junk food all day (even the snacks and lunches provided are unhealthy)

5. children drink water out of the faucet!

NEED I SAY MORE...

Worst in town!

My son stayed home with me a year and I went back to work and sent him here when he had just turned 1. Naturally he had separation anxiety, and less than 10 business days later, I was advised that I should enroll him for half the time because he whined all day and teachers could not manage him, and if I did not take that option, he would have to leave permanantly. Of course that was not an option because I just started a new job! Needless to say I was upset since they assured me that not only was the seperation anxiety normal, but they would work with him and give him extra love and attention. Giving up on my kid less than 10 business days later was not my idea of showing care and sensitivity for him. So I took him to Kindercare down the street. He whined for "mommy" for a month after, but they did't give up. Let's put it this way: I should have known something was wrong when the teachers looked miserable. If one does not like working with kids, they should NOT work with kids.

Aweful!

I would never take my child to Tutor Time again. He was in the facility in Santa Ana, CA for 6 months. He was sick the ENTIRE time. Every time I went to pick him up, the classroom stunk like dirty diapers. Obviously with 12-14 kids in the room, you have to take out the trash more than once a day but they didn't even when the diapers were over flowing out of the trash. There were never enough teachers in the room. My son was constantly being hit by one child in particular and nothing was ever done about it. I finally had enough when that kid hit my son over the head with a shovel and put a gash in his head. The director made it out to be no big deal even though his shirt was full of blood. On one occassion they misplaced my sons medication and forgot to give it to him. He got pink eye after being there for only a month. After 6 months of that place, I had enough. They sure act like they have strict rules when you sign the kid up but as soon as they have your money, they could care less. Even my son's clothing and bed sheets were stolen out of his box and no one cared or did anything about it. My son is now in a day care right across the street and I have had zero problems with kids hitting him and he has not been sick since he left Tutor Time.

Austin, TX

I wouldn't think of putting my son anywhere else! This particular location is ran like a well oiled machine. I have NEVER had any serious issues with anyone and I am truly a picky person. If you want to leave your child for the day and not worry yourself sick about what your child's going to be like when you pick him/her up, this is the place. I highly recommend.

Unbelievable

I agree. My son has been in this daycare since he was 4 months and he has been sick aol the time viruses and ear infections. There is a huge turnaround for staff, the place is unsanitary and the staff has no real childhood education except for maybe cpr training. They dont care about the kids at all but only money. One young worker who was in my son's infant class when he was only 6 months complaigned that he screamed all the time. I quickly reported her and they got rid of her within a day. That still didnt change the mess in the daycare. They ran out of room in the infant class so they quickly moved all the kids 8 months and up to the toddler class room with no adjustment period. My son is having a hard time with the quick change to his new class and he now cries uncontrollably when i drop him off in the new toddler room. Me and my husband was trying to hold out to prevent him from going to a whole new daycare because we plan to put him in a montessori school when he turns 18 months but we cant hold out anymore. Enough is enough. The Tutortime daycare is the worse and the kids all are sick with viruses diarrhea and vomiting.

Atlanta/Smyrna Location is great!

I am saddened to read the previous reviews about other locations. I recommend contacting the Regional Director with your concerns. My daughter is 2 years old and in the Twaddler class. She and I are pleased with her school. Her classroom is clean and visually stimulating. The curriculum is engaging. I am provided daily progress reports which list Potty training progress. eating habits, sleeping habits (naps), what the children worked on each day, etc. This helps me to know the things that I may need extra reinforcement with at home. The teachers are caring and encouraging. My child is happy, she is learning and growing, and that makes me happy.

I visited the center three times unannounced and had tours each time before having my child once again visit with me. I decided to enroll her and at first there was the adjustment period. After that it was smooth sailing for us. I have never had any major concerns and if I needed to address any issue, my questions were answered with courtesy and professionalism. The tuition is also reasonable. I Iwould rate this location four stars. If I were not comfortable with the level of expertise of the staff, the level of care and the level of learning I would snatch my child out withour hesitation.

Unfriendly place

I have requested to visit the place three times over the web and through phone. I even drove to the Tutor Time in Saddle Brook and they didn't even let me in. Person name Lauri said that she will ask another person name Roni to go through emails that I have sent and she will call me to schedule a meeting. It's been two weeks now still haven't heard anything. I am thinking either they don't have enough staff to handle or they're just plain rude! Of course now I'm not sending my daughter to Tutor Time but instead she going to go to the Nursery Rhymes in Saddle Brook. Friend of mine was going to the put her daughter to Tutor Time but after giving my opinion about Tutor Time, she going somewhere else as well.

Would Not Leave My Child

I found them to be uncaring, and I would not leave my child in a place that thinks more of money than children

Morgan Hill School is Amazing!

A Children's Garden on East Dunne in Morgan Hill opened as a Tutor Time. It won center of the year in its first year of business in 2000 and then the owners took it private. It improved 1000% since then and just got Accredited by NAEYC under the NEW tough standards. Our daughters went there. We can't say enough good things about it.

I would not take my child here

About 5 years ago I worked for a Tutortime in Bethal Park while completing my masters degree in Early childhood Education. It was not a good experience. They could not keep staff at this location!! The rooms are NEVER sanitized properly which leads to sick children constantly in the rooms with communicable diseases. The staff also has little to NO early childhood experiences. I think there was 1 staff member besides myself who had a early childhood degree or any type of certification. If you want to provide the best possible start for your child, this is Not the place to do it!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree

I disagree with everyone who has stated that these centers are bad. My child attends Tutor Time in West Bloomfield and it is a wonderful facility with exceptional staff. The center is very clean and the staff is very warm and friendly. The building is not need any repairs and they never run out of ratio. I feel that of all the centers that I toured this center was the best. Their curriculum has made my daughter want to learn more and more everyday. Her teacher takes the time to help her grow. I would recommend Tutor Time to everyone. You have to stop by and check it out for yourself. You can't always go off what people say!

I completely agree

My child is in the infant room and everyday there's a different person in the class. When I drop her off, there's usually about 6 babies with one teacher and the ratio is supposed to be 4 to 1
