Kiku Japanese Steak House

The only thing good about this place is the food, but the girl in the front that answers the phone is a bitch.

There were plenty of tables but we were seated at the entrance to the kitchen. Hostess seated us elsewhere when we asked. My meal came at least 5 minutes before my husbands. Then the waitress never came back to check on us. After waiting quite a while I had to call out for her to get our check. The hot water in the restrooms was dribbling out slowly. When I told the lady at the front, manager?, she didn't seem to care. Although the food was not bad, we will probably not waste our time again.

Very good steak house. Reminds me of Shogun's Japanese Steak Houses in Duluth and Gwinnett area. I just ordered two hibachi dinners (steak and tepanyaki salmon) for take-out, but it was fairly fast considering the upscale nature of the place and high prices (it may be a bit pricier than its neighbor, Texas Roadhouse). Fried rice was very good, and everything was cooked well. Service was pleasant; no problems.



Also the interior of the place has a lot of nice cultural items, like dolls, a gong next to the entrance, fancy flowers, things like that.

My husband and I have been enjoying Kiku's since they opened over 4 years ago. Their sushi is excellent...the ginger dressing on the salads is SUPER addictive...the staff are incredibly nice and very attentive. Stacey is the greatest!! If you want a very filling and satisfying meal in Gainesville- this is the place to go!
