Animal Medical Center of Gahanna

I have been taking my dog to this vet since he was born which was almost 3 years ago. I love the doctors but their front desk staff is terrible. Today, my dog needed just a shot, he already had his doctor visit a few weeks ago so i was planning on being in and out in 10 mins, which was what was planned for the appointment. When i walked in the girl working the front desk seemed annoyed and unhappy, she then assisted me and my dog was taken back moments later and returned with his shot within 1 minute which was awesome, i then went back up to the front desk and waited for her to process the paperwork to check me out. A couple then walked in and she told them she would be right with them, in which i assumed she was taken care of my paperwork. She then began assisting the couple and when i said something about just billing me because i needed to leave she asked the couple if they didn't mind her checking me out first before checking them in, which was funny to me because i was literally standing there for 15 mins and was there before the couple. i even took my dog outside to the bathroom while i waited for her to process everything. It's bothering because this happens regularly when i take my dog in for anything to this office. They are slow, non efficient and inconsiderate at the front desk, for this reason i will not be back.

I have been taking my dog to this facility since he was a puppy(for the last 7years). Until 2 yrs ago everything was fine but not sure what happened since. All of a sudden they did not approve my heartworm meds I ordered thru Foster $ Smith. Their excuse was they wanted me to buy from them (of course b/c the price is almost tripple). Now they require a heartworm test even though he been on heartworm since i had him. So are you saying the heartworm meds are really not working or why else do i have to do a test every year? oh yes...cause more money for you. Then I dropped off my dog for teeth cleaning and got a phone call for approval to pull 5 of his teeth. NO...you not pulling any teeth without explanation or showing me what the problem is! Recently I went in for his shots. I waited in the waiting room for 1 1/2hrs. Another half hour in the ice cold exam room. After 2hrs i walked out. Recd a phone call almost immediately if I had left. Yes I left and NO I am not coming back!! First of all you should have told me that there is long waiting period and nobody ever came in those 2hrs to explain why the wait is so long. So I found me another vet which is sad that after 7yrs I have to switch. I did like the weekend hours that were available.

I took my dog Samantha to be spayed because of an infection. They charged an outrageous amount for surgery then when we picked her up they didn't even take us back to a room to discuss a recovery plan the veterinarian came out to the lobby and discussed recovery and rushed us out the door. I had a second appointment for them to take blood they took the dog back again and rushed us out the door again without letting us discuss our concerns. I thought having a set appointment we would have had better service and for the PRICE of $2000.00. I called today to get my dogs blood work results and they acted like I was bothering them and still has not called me back four hours later. Terrible service

I have been taking my pets (dog and cat) for years. Drs have always been helpful, informative and understanding. I have always been satisfied with the service we have gotten. My pets are treated with love and compassion. My dog has had surgery there and did great. I have recomended the center to many of my friends and I am very pleased. Great hours and prices and having walk ins is convenient.

I was looking for a clinic that loves my dog as much as I do, and I've found it! I have been taking my dog Charlie to Animal Medical Center for four years now and I have been so happy with the level of care he's received. The entire staff is so friendly and inviting that Charlie is always happy to enter the clinic. I am always happy when we leave with his tail still wagging! Thank you Animal Medical Center!!!

I recently switched vets and was very satisfied the staff is helpful and always knows who I am when I come in. The doctors are knowledgable and take their tIme with us. Grooming, Boarding, and the office is open 7 days a week. One of the only places where I have had doctors on the phone to answer questions and talk when I have had problems. I can say I have been more than pleased with the service and level of care. I would recommend everyone I know to come here.

The first time I went there the one doc was practically forcing test that financial I could not pay for. they nvr said anything about payment plans nothing. my cat was given a antibiotic and less than 48 hrs I was putting him to sleep. the first doc wasn't understanding made me feel bad for not doing more but Dr. Mandi Maimone was very understand and supported my choice. I'd go back as long as I didn't have Dr. Alexis Gullett

My mother's cat collapsed and died at this facility during a bath. As if this wasn't bad enough, the situation was made so much worse by the way it was handled. While my mom was distraught over the death of the 3 year old cat, the comments that were made to her ranged from it being my mom's fault to the groomers fault. With his respiratory condition, he should never have been bathed and according to the staff at Animal Medical Center, the groomer should have called my mom and told her it wasn't safe for him to be bathed. Not only was she never notified that he shouldn't be bathed but they waited until the following day to call her at work and tell her this. They also accused her of not taking good care of the cat and said the flea medicine she gave him probably killed him. They were incredibly incompetent and unprofessional, not to mention rude and cruel.

I used to be very (extremely) happy with this place.



Until new ownership is forcing me to buy more then I can afford as far as heart worm. And forcing me to do heart worm testing even though they have been on this medication ever since they were pups. So now a 30.00 purchase turns into 200. NOT HAPPY. Complimentary testing would be nice since we got NO NOTIFICATION things changed with this practice.

What a great hospital with convenient hours! They're open 7 days a week & you don't even have to schedule an appointment...just walk right in!!! The staff and doctors actually care about me & my pets, and aren't like other doctors that just want your money. I would completely recommend AMC to any pet owner in the area!
