Dr. Teitelbaum practices the full spectrum of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and has a special interest in advanced surgical treatment of snoring and sleep apnea for adults and children, minimally invasive surgery of the sinuses, and surgery for thyroid tumors. He has lectured extensively to community groups in the Greater Milwaukee area as well as to the local medical community. Sleep Disorders
Sleep disorders can be very serious and affect daily activities. Obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA, is a serious condition affecting more than twelve million Americans. This condition is due to blockage of air flow through the throat while sleeping. OSA leads to decreased oxygen delivery to the body, termed oxygen desaturation. Forty-five percent of normal adults snore at least occasionally, and 25 percent are habitual snorers. Problem snoring is more frequent in males and overweight persons, and it usually grows worse with age. Snoring is an indication of obstructed breathing. Therefore, it should not be taken lightly.

Dr. Teitelbaum has been involved with clinical training of otolaryngology residents from the Medical College of Wisconsin and has been recognized as an Active Teacher in Family Practice for the St. Luke’s Family Practice Residency since 1996.

Jodi has diagnostic and treatment experience in Articulation Disorders, Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Voice Disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She also specializes in performing laryngeal videostroboscopy and providing vocal rehabilitation for individuals diagnosed with voice disorders.
Multiple Sclerosis
Abnormal ABR findings may consist of delays in the absolute latency times of the individual waves, or an increased latency time between waves I-V, or waves I-III, or waves III-V. Poor wave morphology is also considered to be abnormal. Abnormal findings may indicate a hearing loss, multiple sclerosis, or a stroke. In rare cases such findings may be suggestive of a benign tumor of the 8th cranial (acoustic) nerve, located in the ear canal or central pontine myelinolysis.

Thyroid
At CCENT, ultrasound scanning is used to examine the neck, primarily the thyroid gland, for possible thyroid disease, lumps and masses. It is also used to guide fine-needle biopsies of the thyroid performed in our office. Diagnostic ultrasound is non-invasive, involves no radiation, and avoids the possible hazards of other diagnostic methods. Ultrasound scans are administered by a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer skilled in the use of Ultrasound scanners for neck examinations on patients in a professional, safe and caring manner.
Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid nodules are uncommon in childhood, and pediatric thyroid cancer is uncommon. Still, it is the most common endocrine malignancy in children.

A conventional X-ray is limited to a 2-D visualization. Diagnosis and treatment planning can require a more complete understanding of a complex 3-D anatomy. CT examinations provide a wealth of 3-D information that can be used when planning for sinus or ear surgery. CT scans provide a greater chance for precisely diagnosing conditions which can be missed a significant percentage of the time on conventional films. In a nutshell, the CT scan enhances your physician’s ability to see what he/she needs to see before treatment is started.
