Catfish Deweys

We had fried clam strips and they were very good. Plenty to eat. The waiter brought us hush puppies and slaw to start. Plenty to eat and the staff was nice.

Got the catfish. No flavor to the breading or the catfish. Only good thing was the hush puppies. Went on the night crab legs were all you can eat, I wish I would've gotten that instead. But I'm not making the trip there.

My best friend and I were in Ft. Lauderdale in April, 2009, to see my granddaughter swim in the YMCA National Championships. While having breakfast one morning, we asked our server to recommend a good seafood restaurant, and she told us Catfish Deweys was the best. Boy, was she right! The food was awsome (baskets of hushpuppies), and the service was outstanding. It's not a fancy place, but has a real down-home feeling. We even sat and talked to a table of women next to us. We'll be heading south again next April, and we will make it a point to go back (probably more than one time). I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys seafood, plus they have steaks and ribs, too.

I found this restaurant on this Yellow Pages.com, just looking for a seafood restaurant near where I was staying while in Ft Lauderdale for a couple of weeks. I decided to try this one and it is great. Wonderful fried shrimp, just perfect. i have been back about every other night for dinner since going the first time.

Exceptional catfish and other food and entertainment. Good prices too.
