The San Juan County Corrections Division, with its office located in Farmington, N.M., includes the services of its detention center, juvenile services, drunk while intoxicated facility and compliance program. Its staff works with other segments of the criminal justice system and supports the county courts in the adjudication and care of all prisoners. It provides educational programs and services to inmates as required by law. In ensuring safety to the public, it also incarcerates individuals who are a threat to the community. The San Juan County Corrections Division conducts various training programs for its staff that develop a perspective on detention, social and cultural issues and an appreciation of the importance of its facility, as well as community safety.
