The Jones family - the owners of Schoolhouse Montessori - are unethical and ruthless. Today is June 29, 2015. We were told today through an impersonal, insulting letter that the last day the school will be open is July 10, 2015. Our children are enrolled for the full summer and all of the 2015-2016 school year. It is too late to enroll in many other schools we would have considered. Beyond the wonderful things our children were learning and the amazing teachers they are with all day, we depend on this school to watch our children while we are at work full time. We have loved our children's teachers, the curriculum and our experience. The Jones family has no regard for the families that depend on their school, or the hard, extremely caring workers who they have just let go with less than 2 weeks notice. Their disgustingly negligent letter to the families is not signed, nor does it have any contact information on it. The final line reads, "Have a great summer and best wishes at your new school." I can't believe the nerve of a sentence like that when they have just shattered so many lives. We are now in a desperate situation and our children are heartbroken. Please do not support this organization or the *tyrants who own it.
*Please realize that everyone who works (worked) at the school is delightful and I pray they will find a great place to work and children to love them as much as ours have.

Great Academic School

My child is enrolled in the toddler program. I was worried how he would adapt considering he had never been around other children or left alone without family. Ms. Gress supplied me with all the information and confidence I needed. She called to keep me updated on how his first week of school had been going. I always feel very informed. My son now loves coming to school and completely adores his teachers. I am so confident that he loves school and is in great hands! Within just a short time being in school I have already noticed that he has picked up more language, independence, and confidence. I really like that my child is learning so much and has calm patient teachers. I know he is in good hands!!!

Best First School

My daughter has been at this school since she was 8 weeks. She is now 15 months and my husband and I love how she has progressed. This school is worth every dollar. She knows some of her letters and their sounds, many animals and their sounds and she is almost potty trained!!! The infant and toddler rooms are far beyond what I expected. I'm eager to continue to watch her develop and move on to the toddler room.

I gave this school one star only becuase of my sons kindergarten teacher who is a great lady and sweetheart. Otherwise I would have given the school ZERO stars! Let me begin by saying that my son was attending the Troy Schoolhouse location for almost 2 years, and had a wonderful learning experience. The director and all the teachers at Troy are amazing.. Very professional and very educated. They treated us like family. I cried when I had to send my son to the Farmington hills location, but I gave them a chance. The school is very slow with keeping parents informed of everything going on... I never got anything sent home to me as far as school trips, parent nights, etc.... Are you ready for the worst part now??!!! So, I signed my son up for 1st grade after a long long period contemplating on where I was going to send him... The director kept hounding me every time I dropped off my son about signing him up and I should sign him up fast because the class will fill up, etc.... Blah blah blah... You get my point. So, after making the decision to stay in this district one more year, we signed him up the first week of August. We paid our deposit, tuition, etc... So, I decided to walk into his school Wednesday August 28th to pay for his school lunches for the month of September in advance before the school year started the following week. I walked in to do so, and the director (Ms. Cochran) had this disgusted look on her face while telling me that she's been sick all week and began to tell me that there wasn't going to be a 1st grade class! I was extremely disappointed because of 2 reasons: 1) school starts in exactly 6 days and being Labor Day weekend, all schools will be closed so I wouldn't even be able to register my son anywhere else in time! 2) When were they going to call me and tell me that they closed the 1st grade class???? If I hadn't walked in spur of the moment, I was going to show up with my son on the first day of school ...... Only to have to turn around and go home! One more thing I forgot to mention: on Tuesday the 27th I took the 2nd half of the day off work so I could attend orientation from 8:30-9:30pm. I showed up and the parking lot was empty! She told me the next day when I showed up there that it was in the morning! These people in this school are utterly disorganized! The secretary at the front desk is super rude and the director as I mentioned is even worse. She offered me no help, no apology, nothing at all when I left that day. Oh, but she did tell me that "alot of parents show up on the first day of school to register" ..... And that she would call me if they had more students registered and if they open the class. How does that help me at all?!!!! That was the stupidest thing I have ever heard because that doesn't happen!!!!!! There is no wonder why the Farmington hills schoolhouse location is darn near empty. If you are considering e rolling your child at schoolhouse montessori Farmington hills, please reconsider, it is nothing more than a crappy daycare and everybody there is super rude (except Mrs. Lamson) The Troy location is amazing to say the least. This has been a long review and I apologize for the length of it, but I needed to get my point across. I won't be surprised if this school closes very soon!

It is very sad to a have a school that has rude people working in it. The concern should be teaching and putting all these misleading ads that they make it appear as if newspapers writing this, just trying to fool people.
