Overall

I have lived in many places during my lifetime and being a multi-pet household, I have had many vets. This clinic is by far my favorite. I especially love Dr. Amy Hartman and Dr. Terry Stephens. The caring and compassion shown to clients by these doctors and their staff is unparalleled. Dr. Murdock and Dr. Celeste are wonderful, too. Whether my pets are healthy and going to the clinic for wellness visits, sick and needing their help or having their final trip to the vet to be put to sleep, these folks are awesome. I always feel that my pet is the most important pet they've seen that week, from the smiling and attentive receptionists who greet me to the technicians who take care of my pets to the vets. Dr. Amy has helped me manage my 18-yr-old cat's kidney disease for 2 years, making sure that she has a good quality of life. I'm so thankful to her for spending not only time at work but her personal time at home learning about new treatments, new tests, etc. and even e-mailing me, in order to give my pets the best care possible. She has cried right along with me when providing a peaceful end to a suffering beloved pet. She is incredible.

I especially want to thank everyone at Evergreen Animal Hospital for their compassionate end-of-life care for my pets. They have a very comforting, peaceful room just for euthanasias. It's far removed from a typical exam room; it's a comforting and peaceful room with low lights. Every person there is empathetic and genuinely caring. They even provided me with a packet of lovely poems and helpful information about grieving, bound in a booklet with my pet's name printed on the cover. It gave me much comfort and even educated me on how to talk to my children about their beloved companion's death.

They have their own crematory which made me feel so much more secure in leaving my dog's body there for a private cremation. I knew I would be getting my dog's ashes back, and only his ashes.

It's wonderful to have my pet's hospital also serve as the community's 24-hour emergency clinic. I never have to go anywhere else.

I am really excited to hear that they are branching out to offer house call visits, sending Dr. Amy out on house calls so that they can offer pet care to more folks than ever.

Overall

I brought my dog in because of apparent internal bleeding while I was on vacation. It was thought to be from medication he was taking. However, I was never advised by the vet that the bleeding could be a hemorrhage. My pet was given a shot and sent away. I followed up with phone calls the next day, because my pet was nauseous. Again, I was told it was normal. Actually, my pet was hemorrhaging, and I was never advised by the vet that this could be a very serious problem. After the second day, we took the dog to critical care. He almost died and was hospitalized for 6 days.

I would think long and hard before using a clinic that does not educate clients about possible life-threatening dangers. I would never advise anyone I know to use this clinic and I hope that the doctors there start to give clients better advice. It is disappointing to rely on a doctor's advice only to find out that they haven't talked about the whole range of possibilities. If you are in the mountains, consider driving to Breckenridge or Wheat Ridge and avoid this clinic.
