Divorce
Collaborative divorce allows the parties to resolve the issues in their dissolution proceeding in a private and confidential setting. The parties agree they will not go to court to litigate their case. Instead the parties work together with their attorneys, financial consultants, and child custody specialists to help guide them through the divorce process. Alternate Dispute Resolution
Child Support
As a result of Federal law, child support is governed by guidelines in virtually every state. However, the formulas for guidelines differ from state to state.
Child Custody and Visitation
Divorce, also referred to as Dissolution, is typically comprised of four (4) basic parts: Marital Status, Characterization, Valuation and Division of Property, Support (both child and/or spousal) and Child Custody.

Spousal Support
Spousal support is designed to assist a party in maintaining the marital standard of living. Called "alimony" in many states, and in California until 1970, spousal support is not governed by a formal guideline. If fact, judges are prohibited from using "guidelines" in setting long term support.
Legal Separation
Divorces require that you have been a county resident for 3 months, and a state resident for 6 months. Sometimes, you can get around these rules by filing for legal separation and later converting the case to a Dissolution of the Marriage.
Annulment
The emphasis of her practice is Alternate Dispute Resolution and Private Judging, each of which is consistent with her solution-seeking approach to resolving Family Law matters of all types. Restraining Order
At the conclusion of almost any Family Law dispute, the court must issue an order setting out the parties’ rights and obligations. This may include orders deciding how property is owned, custody of children, and payment of support, for example. It may also include restraining orders on personal conduct. While the order may simply follow the agreement of the parties, it may also be the result of the judge making a decision where the parties are not in complete agreement.
