X-rays

Teeth Cleaning
Your dentist or physician may prescribe antibiotics for dental procedures (link to other services page) that would result in bleeding from the gums or mucous membranes in the mouth. Such procedures could include professional teeth cleaning, incision and drainage of infected oral tissue, some types of infections, extractions and some surgeries that involve the maxillary sinus.
Fluoride Treatment
We are here to help and make your child’s dental experiences go smoothly and be a positive one! Child visits will be somewhat similar with a great emphasis on prevention, growth and development, decay detection, sealants, and fluoride treatments to prevent decay, orthodontic and wisdom teeth (third molars) evaluation with appropriate referrals as needed.
Dental Sealants
Bring your child with you to your regular dental visit, so they become comfortable with us. Their first “official” visit should be between the ages of two and three. Children’s dental treatment may include fluoride and sealants.

A Trial Smile is a way for you to see how proposed porcelain restorations, such as veneers, can change and transform your smile before you commit to the treatment. As is often said, “a picture is worth a thousand words”.
Crowns
The type of material used for the crown will depend on where the tooth is located in your mouth, the color of the tooth and the amount of natural tooth remaining. A front tooth that affects appearance, for instance, most likely will be restored with a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown. When a back tooth has been badly fractured or decayed, a gold or porcelain-fused-to-metal crown may be used. Your dentist will discuss these options with you.

Root Canal Treatment
Treatment usually requires from one to three appointments. During these treatments, your dentist or a specialist called an endodontist removes the diseased pulp. The pulp chamber and root canal(s) of the tooth are then cleaned, shaped and sealed to prevent recontamination of the root canal therapy usually is a relatively painless procedure.

Although I received dental care for most of my life, I developed gum issues in my 40′s. After undergoing gum scraping and other procedures, I began to lose gum tissue and as a result had to have my teeth extracted. Wearing dentures and getting used to them was very difficult. There were always spots that rubbed and as a result blisters would form on my gum tissue. Because of all the work done on my gums, there was very little gum area for my dentures to rest on. My physical health began to weaken because I couldn’t eat what I needed or wanted. I would avoid many foods because I knew that my mouth would be sore after eating them.

Premedication with an antibiotic prior to dental treatment is sometimes necessary for a number of medical conditions including heart, joint replacements (knee, hip, shoulder, etc) implants (breast, etc), some types of chemotherapy treatments for cancer to name a few.These regimens are always changing.

After the surgery, you will be given post-operative instructions. It is very important to read, understand, and follow these instructions in order to prevent any post-operative problems. It is normal to experience swelling and discomfort. Also, it is not uncommon to feel a numbness or tingling sensation in the jaw or face.
